PRIVACY POLICY

Raviga Apps Private Limited ("we," "us") operates Miraquill (the "Service"). This Policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and your choices. By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.
1. Who Is Responsible
Raviga Apps Private Limited (India) operates Miraquill and is the Data Fiduciary for your personal data under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. To exercise your rights or raise a concern, contact our Grievance Officer at membersupport@miraquill.com.
2. Information We Collect
You provide (stored on our servers):
- Account — name/username and email.
- Profile — photo, bio, website, and preferences.
- Your content — posts, poems, quotes, stories, drafts, comments, and messages you post in community chat.
- Support messages — what you send us.
Age check — not sent to us. At signup the app asks your date of birth solely to confirm you are 18 or older. This is used on your device only; your birthdate is not sent to or stored by us. We receive and keep just an "18+ confirmed" flag.
AI Writing Assistant — not sent to or stored by us. What you type into the Assistant goes from your device directly to the AI provider (such as OpenAI or Anthropic) to generate a response. It does not pass through or get stored on Miraquill's servers; we do not have your AI conversations. Your chat stays on your device and is automatically deleted (see Section 5).
Collected automatically by us:
- Your IP address and a push-notification (FCM) token (if you enable notifications).
- Your activity on the platform (posts, likes, follows, and similar) and your language preference, to operate the Service.
Collected by third-party SDKs (see Section 4):
- Analytics and diagnostics via Google Firebase / Crashlytics — app interactions, device type, OS, app version, and crash data.
- Your device advertising identifier, used by Google AdMob to show ads.
We do not collect your geolocation.
Payments: purchases are processed by Google Play or the Apple App Store and managed through RevenueCat. We receive confirmation of a purchase/renewal and a transaction id, not your full card details.
3. How and Why We Use Information (and Lawful Basis)
We use information to: create and secure your account; provide the social, publishing, messaging, and AI-assistant features; show public content; deliver notifications you've enabled; show and measure ads; process subscriptions; prevent spam/fraud/abuse and keep the Service secure; understand and improve the Service (using aggregated/de-identified data where we can); and comply with the law and enforce our Terms.
We rely on: performance of our agreement with you; your consent (which you can withdraw); our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the Service; and legal obligations.
4. Advertising and Analytics
- Advertising (Google AdMob): we show ads, which may be personalized using your device advertising identifier and ad-interaction data. You can opt out of personalized ads in the app's settings; you'll still see non-personalized, context-based ads. You can also reset/limit your advertising ID in your device settings.
- Analytics and diagnostics: we use Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Cloud Messaging) and limited event logging to run, secure, and improve the Service.
- We do not sell your personal information. Sharing data with ad/analytics partners may be considered "sharing" under some laws; the personalized-ads opt-out above is how you control it.
5. The AI Writing Assistant
When you use the Assistant, your text is sent as typed to trusted third-party AI providers (such as OpenAI and Anthropic) to generate a response. Your conversation is never sent to or stored on Miraquill's servers; it stays on your device. We do not use your private writing or Assistant conversations to train AI models, and our providers do not train on them under the API terms we use. Your current conversation is kept only on your device for a short period so you can continue your writing; it is automatically deleted after about 6 hours of inactivity, and also when you log out, clear the chat, or delete your account. 6. When We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share only with:
- Service providers — cloud hosting (Amazon Web Services), the AI providers above (OpenAI, Anthropic), a text-to-speech provider, Google (AdMob, Firebase, Sign-In), Apple (Sign-In), RevenueCat (subscriptions), image libraries (Unsplash/Pexels), and support tools — under contracts limiting them to providing services to us.
- Other users / the public — content you publish or share, and your public profile.
- Legal and safety — where required by law or legal process, or to protect rights, safety, or property.
- Business transfers — in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (recipient must honour this Policy).
7. How Long We Keep Information (Retention)
- Account data: kept while your account is active. When you delete your account, it is removed from the app immediately and retained for up to ~90 days (for recovery, legal, security, and backup), after which it is permanently deleted or anonymised.
- Your content (posts, drafts, comments): kept until you delete it or close your account. Anything you shared publicly may still exist in copies others made (for example, screenshots) or in search-engine caches, which are outside our control.
- Community chat messages: kept for about 7 days, then deleted.
- AI Assistant conversations: kept only on your device, auto-deleted after about 6 hours of inactivity, and on logout, clear, or account deletion. Not retained on our servers; no long-term history.
- Technical/security logs: kept only a limited period for security, debugging, and fraud prevention.
- Payment/transaction records: kept as required for tax, accounting, and legal purposes.
8. Your Rights and Choices
Wherever you are, you can (by emailing support@miraquill.com, or in-app where available):
- Access the personal data we hold about you;
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
- Delete/erase your data or account;
- Withdraw consent (including for notifications);
- Opt out of personalized ads (in settings);
- Nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity (DPDP);
- Complain to us via the Grievance Officer and, in India, to the Data Protection Board of India (or your local data-protection authority).
We may verify your identity before acting, and may decline where the law allows (e.g., retention needed for legal/security reasons). We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
9. Children
The Service is for users 18 and older. We require a date of birth at signup and do not knowingly allow under-18s. If you believe a minor is using the Service, contact support@miraquill.com and we will act to remove them and delete their data.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data, including encryption of data in transit and controls that limit access to authorised systems and personnel. Your information is stored on protected infrastructure within a private, access-controlled environment designed to safeguard it against unauthorised access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so while we work to protect your information and respond appropriately to any incident, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Data-Breach Notification
If a personal-data breach occurs, then on becoming aware of it we will notify affected users and the Data Protection Board of India without undue delay, and we will provide the Board a detailed report within 72 hours as required. Our notice to affected users will be in plain language and will describe the breach, the data involved, steps you can take to protect yourself, and our contact details. We will also take remedial steps to address the breach and reduce the risk of it happening again.
12. International Transfers
We are based in India. Your information may be processed in India and in other countries where we or our service providers operate, including the United States (for example, by our AI providers and the optional text-to-speech feature). Wherever your information is processed, we apply the protections described in this Policy and take steps to keep it secure, consistent with applicable law.
13. Notifications and Communications
If you enable notifications, we may send you push notifications related to the Service and your activity on it. You can turn them off at any time in your device or app settings.
We may also contact you by email. Service emails (about your account, security, or important changes) are necessary to provide the Service, and you cannot opt out of these. If we send promotional emails (such as newsletters, tips, or product updates), you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in the email or your account settings.
14. Cookies and Similar Technologies
On our website and in the app we use cookies, local storage, and device/advertising identifiers to operate the Service, remember preferences, secure accounts, measure usage, and support advertising. You can control some of these via your browser, device, or app settings.
15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy. If changes are material, we'll update the date above and notify you in the app where appropriate. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
