Five years later and the skies still tasted the same
The moonlight still undressed her fears and tears
The stars still winked to unwind her tangled soul
The breeze still strived to melt away all her pain
The pillow still nursed her soul, soaking every tear
For her nightmares would simply not let her alone

They abhorred and deserted the caterpillar
Now they yearn to play with the butterfly
And I remind them, it's still the same me
Only that this time, I have spread my wings.

For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

    Roses wither, the snow melts
Or is it my eyes are dimming
    For beauty flashes but once
And all glory is but a shadow
Fading with the rise of the sun.

No longer do I exaggerate my expectations
I only expect light when I close my eyes
And love when I dare to open my heart

Henceforth, I will call these sunsets home
And I will wear these wild winds for wings
I am become the river, I cannot flow back
So let me fly away, in quest for fairer skies
I have outlived all these ancient fiery fears
I inhaled the world and breathed out poems
And now, like falling leaves on a windy day
I will be dancing my way to another lifetime

I have been to the end
    I have read the epilogue
    In the end, love won

Accompanied by the sway of the breeze
I roamed the skies hoping to find you
    Somewhere hidden among the stars
Until the songs of birds gave me a clue
To sing out your name with a heartbeat
And with a smile unbroken; wait a while

Countless times have I heard the tale
A drop of love is as a ripple in the ocean
From a single soul, it weaves it's waves
Love is airborne, so I breathe out a wish
And hope the winds will carry my heart
To blow you away with the aroma of love

    Falling on my knees

I have killed two nights with one moon before,
And walked on skies kindled with flaming stars,
I have breathed the nightfall to daylight before,
And outrun the ticking clock in the race of time,
But, though I was afraid of heights and shame,
I jumped from a lofty ego and fell on my knees,
And O! there, I found my place of true boasting,
I found love that melted a heart of stone to flesh,
And the peace that surpasses all understanding,
I found the true missing piece to my longing heart,
In mercies deep was I cleansed white as snow,
And yeah, I found ground to stand tall to the world,
Now I can boast because my Father owns it all,
The apple of His eye am I, all things now mine,
On my knees did I fall, and my Lord exhalted me.

When sunflowers fall off my eyes,
I will be the one-eyed man among the blind,
So I will pick up stars and scribble upon the sky,
In bold will I write, till every man's name shines,
Then I will point all men to the mammoth sky,
I will show them the graceful smiles of the stars,
And tell of how they won't vie nor fight each other,
Yet in the dark, together, they light up the night,
Each star contributing according to its ability,
So when sunflowers fall off my eyes,
I will show men how we should live as brothers.
