On the brink of old age
    Never more alone
    My companions pain and anxiety
    Years being there
    Helping, hopefully guiding
    Those who sought me out
    Hoping my advice was good
    Was wise
Withholding advice,if I did not know
    Giving advice, not instructions
    To be considered
    Not taken as gospel
    My family grown and flown
    So proud
    Independent successful
Children, I am so proud of
All my children, born by me or not
I love their messages, their phone calls
    Their visits
But this time is theirs, as it was mine
    My saviour from loneliness
    From the energy sapping pain
    My beautiful husband
    Always there
    My faithful dogs
    Always there
    The brink of old age
    Too broken to work
    Too young to retire
    Pain, anxiety, work
    Pain, anxiety, work
    An endless circle
    My anchors,
    My Husband
    My Children
    My grand children
    My Dogs.

    Dad,
    We talked about everything
    Everything and nothing
    I remember our thoughts
    On, what is..after death
You said if it was possible
    You would let me know
    Know where you are
    That you are OK
    I have dreams,
    Dreams I cannot remember
    But a few fragmented pieces
Enough to know you were there
    In my sleeping state
    Now you exist
Without the constraints of a body
    You can enter our sleep
    Send us messages
    We are listening Dad
    We know you are OK
    Your spirit reunited with Mums
    Completing the circle of life
    Returning to the source
    The Universe.

    Back Home

    Your breathing is deep
    Your chest rises and falls
It's odd to see your ribs
    And flatness
Where Your Dad belly has always been.
    I sit quietly
Taking in every small feature of your face
We haven't spoken for a while now
    I miss our afternoons,
    Putting the world to rights.
    So much knowledge
    So much love
    Wrapped in the person
    I call Dad
I sit here talking to you
    Hoping you can hear
    Keeping that bond going
    I know you haven't long
    The universe is calling you
    Calling you back home
    To share your knowledge
    To share your human experience
    Love, compassion, frustration, anger,
    All the experiences and knowledge
Returned and shared with the whole
    Soon you will be there,
When I look to the sky
In the sun, the wind, the rain the snow
You will be back to nature
Back home, back to the universe.

    My heart, My Dad

    My heart lies bleeding
    But still strong
    Strong enough to be there
For my Daddy, my Dad, my Father
In his latter years, his final day's.
    My handsome, strong funny Dad
    My first love,protector, friend, parent.
    A constant throughout my life
    Nurturing, protecting, loving
    A sharp word wherever needed
To keep me on the right path.
    Encouragement by the bucketful
A sense of humour so cheeky,
That age appropriate changed with the years.
A man who gave me confidence
To be me, the me I want to be.
We can talk the hind legs off a donkey
    On any subject,
You choose it we have a view.
My Dad, loved by so many he has met
But never more than our late Mum
Or us Kids, and his Grandchildren and Great-grandchildren.
    As the days pass
    And your body weakens
We that are only here because of you
    Send you Love, and strength
We are here for you every day.
We will carry you, and ease your burden
As you have carried us and loved us
You can rest, on a soft bed of Love
    That you created and nurtured.
A bed of love that will keep you eternally alive, within our hearts.
    Love you Dad

    Old

    Old what does that mean?
In our grandparents day sixty was old
But sixty today is young and vibrant
Old is just a state of mind,
    We may be fourty
But live the life of sixty
We are our own worst enemy
    Inviting time to destroy us
    Living for tomorrow not today
    Looking forward not at now
    Our lives are so short
Yet we spend so many hrs
    Focusing on making money
    Living the dream
    When reality is
    Just living
    Surviving
    Money is nothing but
    A mirage of so called
    Normal lifel

    The forever after
    What does that mean
    A place here?
    There?
    Or in-between?
    Years of life
    Come to an end
    What happens next
    Can you tell me friend
    Do we cease to be
    Or do we live on
    In another place
    That we cannot see
    Our days are numbered
    From birth to death
    What happens to us
    After that last breath
    Is it just humans
    All all the worlds life
    That lives again
    After death.

    Foundation

    The foundation stones
    Are the strongest
    Giving support to the whole
    Chip away at the foundation
Just a little and they still give support
But little by little the foundations crumble
And it all tumbles to the ground.
    Take care of the foundations
    The building blocks
For they hold the true strength
    In everything.

    Covid

    I asked the universe
    Up above
When will we live again free
    The Universe thought
    And could not answer
Could not say when we would be free
    A virus has come
    Like no other
    Has turned our life upside-down
    The world lives in fear
    In Quarentine,
    Like no other year
    A vaccine has come
    To slow this virus
A vaccine or two or three
But will they work as they say
    Will we truly be free
The answer is no for now
As this vaccine is not a cure
    Just a stop in time
    A breather
    In this viral time
    Nothing can cure a covid
    Even in modern times
    After the vaccine
We have to live with the virus
    Live with Covid 19
    There is no cure
    No easy path
    Just Vaccination
    A world wide way
And hopefully in years to come
Covid 19 is History to everyone.

    Secret Buddha

    I found a secret buddha.
    In a secret place
I pass him on my daily walks.
    I confide in the Buddha
    In his secret place
I ask him for a favour
As I pass him on my walk.
I do not ask for riches
I do not ask for gold
    I ask the secret Buddha
    To keep my life
    On an even keel.
Just enough to have a decent life
Not too much not too little.
    I believe he is listening
    My secret Buddha.
