The breakfast's ready. Wowwww!!! His mother has prepared his favourite dishes. Even Jalebis as well. "Why maa? Anything special?" "To tell you congrats on getting good marks" mother replied. "Hoo." Laughing. "But the result has not yet come." "You worked so hard and you are my son. Ofcourse you'll score well" said his father laughing. He is feeling so excited and calm at the same time. He was never this happy. No clocks around. No where to rush to. A peaceful wind tickling in his heart.
Ahh! Started the cat fight. The brother and sister fighting over the sweets. He can't give up his favourite jalebis just because she is his younger sister. How childish of him. Anyway his sister won.
How satisfied is he. No jealousy over his sister. Can siblings ever be not jealous of each other. Weird. He feels so special. He is so content. He has everything he ever wished for. His family. How much he loves his family. No words to describe how ecstatic he is.
'The results are out.Check now' said the father who was constantly searching the web page. Entered his register number. Looking at the screen, its buffering, buffering.
The alarm rang. Startled he woke. No one's around him. No one!!! Where's my papa, maa, sister? Reality struck.
Was it a dream? No one would call him an orphan. He had a father to be proud of him, a mother to show him love, a sister to fight with. He did not have to eat alone. Need not have to weep. He had someone who would be worried if he was late home. He had someone who celebrated his birthday . He had people with whom he could go out with. He had someone who cooked for him with love. He had someone whom he could hug, or just atleast touch when he felt low. He had someone who was concerned about his result, he need not have to feel sad for no one congratulating for his hard earned marks. He had someone with whom he could fight. He had someone who scolded if he didn't eat well. He had a 'family'.
No. It can't be. It can't be just a dream. He doesn't want this to happen. How can other's have the luxury of having parents and not him. Its so unfair. Miserable, sorrowful yet no tears in his eyes. His heart felt heavy for the reality that is infront of him. "Hmmm. Atleast I had a family in my dream" he woke up from his bed.
Its quite long I know. There are people out there wishing they had parents, family. While few part of the society which doesn't respect the luxury they have.
He woke up in the morning to his snoozing alarm and his mother calling out 'get up son'. Still drowsy, he woke up from his bed. Looked in the mirror at himself, something is different. What is it?
The coffee was next to his bed, his mother still calling out 'get up son'.The aroma of the coffee cheering him up. He did not understand why he was feeling so delighted just to hear his mother's voice, just to smell the coffee, take a sip of it. Something is unusal.
Went out with his coffee, found his papa reading newspaper, his sister hugging her mother and laughing. His heart beating fast. Its so happy to see them. An unlike feeling. He is so delighted, a strong positivity around him.
The father and son continued with the coffee and newspaper talking about which bike he would want, which one to get, as promised to be bought after his 12th std. His father trusted him very much. Praising his son with his friends. Whenever he was drunk, it would reach upto sky. Telling them how smart and wise his son is. He is proud of his dad too. Yet an another weird feeling he had never felt before.
His sister started humming a song. " You sing well daughter" said his father, singing along with her. Then the wife teasing the husband about how he had proposed her and sung a song. The family laughing and mocking him.
"What's there to laugh. Let me sing to you even now." Started his song 'Jotheyali Jotheyaliruvenu heege endu'. An old kannada song. Hooohoo shouted the siblings.
