All of us with our social media hashtags I ask you Do you care?
In an year from now, will you remember The ones whose deaths we so loudly protest? Do you care?
Inside our hearts, does it matter? Or are we but animals, Filled with the herd instinct Knowing deep within ourselves that There is something out there Something bad, a horror Do we just join the numbers To save our skin, to quell that feeling deep within?
So I ask you, Do you care?
Do you want clout, or to change all that we post about? Do you want to act,be bold and express opinion Or rather show indifference, copy paste your statuses about Making a difference?
Pain. The only constant in our ever changing lives.
Pain is an abyss. Dark, endless and there's always more to come, no matter how much of it you go through. It is, in its own way, a teacher. A blind man never falls down the same stair twice. They say experience teaches you the best, but all experience tells you is how to avoid pain.
Pain is the dark side of the moon, the necessary evil. It is what motivates us, moves us, urges us to be better; to push ourselves so high we are finally out of reach of its grey claws.
Many men seek to live their lives minimizing pain. That is, in its essence, a cowardly way to live. You do not, in fact, live. You exist. There is a difference between mere survival and genuine living.
Creature comforts would mean nothing, unless you knew what it was like to not have them. We as humans need that stark contrast, that oh so sharp line that cuts sometimes. We need pain to know what is good.
