    DYING METAPHORS

LIFE IS A BARREN FIELD FROZEN WITH SNOW.
THE AGONY IS MAKING MY HEART COLD.
BUT HIS TOUCH FULL OF WARMTH IS ENOUGH FOR ME
TO TURN MY DELICATE SNOWFLAKES OF SMILE INTO GOLD.

A LIGHT IN THE SEA OF DARKNESS
WAS SOMETHING MY DYING SOUL CRAVED FOR.
    YOUR LIPS WERE DRIZZLING CARAMEL
    OVER MY SCARS SO SOUR.

THE NOISE IS MUSIC TO HIS EARS
THE SILENCE IS FILLED WITH MY VOICE.
HE UTTERS MY NAME IN HIS PRAYERS
AND TAKES ME AS A BLESSING OF CHOICE.

A LAUGH IN THE SEA OF SADNESS I DID
WHEN MY EYES CAUGHT HIM WITHOUT BLINKING.
HIS EYES SPARKLING BRIGHT IN GAIETY ,
GIVES LIFE TO MY DEAD METAPHORS, I'M INKING.

LOVE IS A GROWING GARLAND AROUND MY HEAD
FULL OF ROSES, LILIES AND BABY'S BREATH.
I HOPE YOU WILL EMBRACE ME IN YOUR ARMS AND
OVER MY PAINFUL SCARS PLACE A WREATH.

    Dying metaphors

And honey, my metaphors are dying now
And my sheets are taking a last breath of words.
My brush is painting daisy and
My quill is shedding blood , it whirred.
