    Companion

    My little companion
    Flutters it’s wings, content
Stings my nose with a kiss
A trace of pink follows its trail
On my fingers, I see each detail
It floats in a cloud around my head
It bobs its head when I’ve been misled

    And come nightfall
My little companion kisses my eyes goodnight
    With its tiny legs walking
Over the goosebumps on my lonely skin
    Giving each a kiss
It tells me it’s taking all the pain from within

But come morning, the sun shines so bright
    My body glowing in red
My little companion gives me a kiss
    It flutters away.
