60 days of poetry (day nine)

    I thought I had forgotten
The feel of your lips on mine
    The taste of your lips
The satisfaction it gives me to hold you

    I thought I had forgotten
    The sound of your laughter
The way your eyes lit up when you smile

    I thought I had forgotten
The feel of your body against mine
The satisfaction only you gives me

    Memories of you I banished
    Or so I thought
    Until...

I heard your voice last night
    And all those buried emotions
    Rushed to the surface
Breaking every wall I raised to keep them in.
