I smoked my first cigarette today.
    It was awful...
    the smoke, the taste.
As I filled the smoke in my mouth,
I felt the back of my throat burn.
I felt the fire dissolve in my lungs.
My body tried to dispel the outsider,
    the effort evident,
in the frantic reflex of a cough.
    I gagged, but got hold.
    Tears, salivation,
    the feeling of curling blood.
    I paused for few moments,
    before I took another buzz.
    I breathed in slow.
    Allowing my body to soak
    the heat, the nicotine,
    the burn, the smoke.
    I swear for a moment,
    I was with you.
    Breathing in the air
    same as you do.
    The ground underneath,
    rushed to my face.
    And I hid myself
    in your embrace.
