Us toote khwab ki tabeer is jahan me nahi,
So maan lete hai mukaddar me vo likha nahi hai.

Haath utha ke murado mei maangte hai kya kya,
Sir bhi jhukate hai ki khuda se kuch bada nahi hai.

A merchant in a crowded city,
Dreams and dwellings have me astray.
My home is in a far off land,
But there I no more stay.

The walls there aren't gold or silver,
Just wood logs and some hay.
Still the door always open and welcoming,

It's fragrance, all so unique,
The mud walls painted in grey.
I hear the rain damaged the rooftop,
Nothing I can do now, for there I no more stay.

Fond memories leave a bitter sweet feeling,
I remember it was the summer last May.
