We are familiar with the term “physical illness” which means an attack on any part of the body. Similarly, “mental illness” is associated with a brain for instance anxiety disorder, mood swings. Mental illness doesn’t imply he or she is a lunatic.
This can be seen mostly among youths and superannuated persons. Teenagers are updated with technology, they know pros and cons well, and it can be one of the reasons where they may drown with pessimistic thoughts because negativity quickly attracts than positivity which may also affect them in their study. In the earlier century, the rate of mental illness was low as compared to the contemporary era.
Likewise, at an old age, especially the retired person feels caged in his or her home because if we observe their previous schedule, they have a specific time for every work, but suddenly if they start living in their respective home, they are clueless what to do and what not. They need attention, care as a toddler and if they won’t receive, they become mentally unstable.
In the postmodern era, awareness of mental health is much required as we want to live a happy life; we need to lessen our mental stress because it not only hampers our personal life but professional lives too.
A question may pop-up in our mind – What are the poor signs of mental health? There are many signs, some of them are tearfulness, change in mood behavior, social detoxification, avoid interacting with people, insomnia, excessive sleepiness, panic attacks, extreme fear, eating disorder, strong wrath, attempt to suicide, hard on self, scratch and marks on skin with sharp things, etc.
On the other side of the coin, we find high rates of mental illness in two kinds of people, firstly one who has an appetite for food and secondly who has an appetite for lust.
Another significant question may arise in our mind – Is mental illness curable? The answer is yes, there are effective treatments related to different types of mental disorders, but how can we detect who is going through what kind of situation? It is pretty difficult if we cannot comprehend their psychology unless anyone steps towards us.
At some point in time, each one of us passes through this phase, but it is common among today’s generation.
I would like to share an experience which I came across, even if we share our thoughts with parents that from the last few months are depressing, few parents may enquire about our past months what pushes us to these consequences, but 75% of them may not take as a serious note, and they will again busy with their hectic life.
Another significant query arises whom to share with if our parents fail to understand what we are going through, who else will help out from this web of the bitter taste of life. As we have a vast gap between our parents and us, they may not give too much heed in this matter but that does not mean all doors are exit for this illness.
In the twenty-first century, there are many communities, campaigns spreading positive outcomes by creating health awareness.
Unemployment can be another important reason for mental awareness among youths.
The first step needs to be taken by the patient itself, he or she must approach an intimate friend or relative to seek help. But what if the patients do not take any step by itself, how can we figure out what paths they are leading to…
Suppose a friend of ours starts saying “Sorry” often or feels guilty, it implies something is wrong with him or her, even if they are inactive or avoids interaction, make them feel good and ask them to improve their mental health by taking a break, by keeping physically fit, by eating lots of fruits and vegetables, by joining gym or boxing to vent out aggressiveness and frustration, or else write down on a paper that keeps you in stress, anxiety and work on it how to remove, this works because I applied in my life, so you can give a try to improve your health.
