Yours is the fire in my heart,

Crackling embers and dancing ashes,
On timeless summer nights.

Light as a handful of feathers
Yet always heavy with memories,
Memories of neverending laughs,
Of afternoons spent dreaming,
Of the taste of salt at the ocean
And birds singing their songs
On a cool morning in spring
When life awakens from slumber
Once more.
Yours is the future I dream of
Every second I am awake,
In anticipation of the many memories
That are yet to come, connected
To many more places and coincidences,
Extraordinary or mundane,
That will forever remind me of you,
Forever bring me back through every
Familiar smell and taste and every moment
