One of my strongest beliefs in life
is that dreams and passion are reflected in the eyes.
Eyes talk louder than the words being said
and they reveal many desires otherwise kept secret.
I completely agree when they say
he is a great actor because his eyes
speak more than every other means used to convey.
It's the eyes that well up with tears when feeling sad
and the same eyes becoming so big when they're mad.
What led me to believe it you ask
Then let me share my favorite moment!
India vs. Sri Lanka, Final match
Cricket World Cup, year 2011.
Empty streets, shops closed
eyes on the screen, every other work stopped.
It's a tough chase India has to make
skipper changes the order, decides to bat.
The entire nation praying for repeating the history
it has been long now, last win was 1983.
Wickets after wickets, stunning batsmen retire
the team is four down captain, time for your bat to be on fire.
In the final battleground he begins the fight
Magic is unraveled, it's Mahi and Yuvi on the strike!
All the tension and the excitement
heart beating faster with back completely straight.
When required four runs and eleven balls
he trusted to pull that iconic helicopter shot.
There was silence all around
no one dared to make a sound.
Eyes fixed on that ball in the air
screaming in themselves please don't fail.
The rest is now history
and we still rejoice remembering that spectacular victory.
Captain cool, they say, finishes always in style
but in that one shot, all those years of relentless hardwork came alive.
On that field, at that day, in that moment,
everyone was fixated on the ball's flight
but all I remember of that day is that
all those dreams, struggles and aspirations
were finally, gladly answered by his EYES!

FÙTBOL
There they were,
In the Gridiron, a "pelota" in the middle
Twenty people waited to run for it
Two people waited to prevent it from making a win.
Surrounded by a sea of supporters,
The nervousness
And excitement were noticed,
Then a whistle is heard,
From a man standing in the middle
Like a lone wolf,
The twenty boys begun cashing after
One "Pelota",
Which I could say was as fast as light
When kicked in the air
And everyone wanted to kick it
But one of the boys call Mid - fielder
Kicked the "Pelota" really high
And it fell right in the den of
A boy named Stiker
And with the speed of a rocket,
The "Pelota" left the leg of Striker
To another boy call Keeper
And this boy surprisingly hold it like
It wasn't hard or hot
Yet in my eyes I was seeing a sun on fire.
I swear, I could see
Striker cursing under his breath
But before I could notice
How the "Pelota" left Keeper's leg,
It was already in the middle of the Gridiron again,
A boy I think had a number 21 on his shirt
Kicked left, right, north, south at short distances, dodging all the other players,
Then he finally kicks in to another person who had number 16 on his shirt
And number 16 gave a shot to another boy call The Other Striker,
And this Striker headed the "Pelota" to The Other keeper and I think The Other keeper saw a head of a roaring Lion coming his direction because the way he jumped to a different direction,
And the "Pelota" pass through
His sides to the net,
Only a thunderous hand claps
And like a thousand screams approved it.

Why?

Why do you only see one smile and no longer distinguish the sincere from the evil. Why it matters who says it and not what it says. Why solutions to easy problems are complex.
You got lost, you were sold, you were assimilated. Now you shout with permission, you protest in a low voice and you cry in solitude. You lost your innocence, you forgot your claws, you stopped thinking. You walk through your wagon on the train that will take you to Santa Klaus.
Because you're not guided by what you believe, but by what they made you believe. You accepted their sermons, you trusted in their judgments, with their branches you built your foundations.
Your left hand knows what's on the right. Their opinions are your law. Their faces are on your coins. Their lyrics in your songs.
Why? Look what you've become now. What's left of you?
