It is one thing to hear the voice of God and another thing to obey His voice. Many are crying to know God’s will over their lives but when He reveals it to them, they become doubters of His voice and become unwilling to follow him.
From Jeremiah chapter 42, the children of Judah asked Jeremiah to enquire of God on their behalves to know His will but already they had a choice in their hearts; all they wanted was God to validate their proposed desires which He didn’t. In chapter 43, it could be seen that children of Judah that asked to hear from God and said they would obey regardless (if it was good or evil in their own sight), were not ready to accept God’s word because it did not conform to their heart desires.
Don’t go before God with options for your life; rather tell Him to direct your every step (#Proverbs3vs5to6).
It is one thing to know God’s will for your life, another thing to follow. When you ask to hear from God, also pray for His grace to do as He says, because truly it might not feel right based on our carnal understanding but God who knows the end from the beginning and has told us to commit our ways and trust to Him will surely give you an expected end (#Psalms37vs5).
