The epic dialogue is of a movie "When mom buys clothes" starring Udit Vashishth and other supporting actors.
It started with my mom's OCD of buying clothes a size bigger than my body.
Mom is like a long term Investor.
She is investing in clothes speculating the proportionate increase in my weight and height in the coming 5 years so that I won't have to buy new clothes until my t-shirt looks like a blouse..
Her strategy is basically like
"Panch varshiye yojana".
Clothes once bought should remain fixed for the next 5 years so that the innocent public like me won't ask for a new Prime minister (clothes) in that period.
She buys clothes keeping every child in her mind.
Every child except the one for whom the clothes are bought.
Imagine a shirt of size 42 is worn by a person with bones peeping out of his body that even small size shirts look large.
I used to look like a rapper basically.
I bet I would look so dope if I had a gold chain, a headband and an aviator. ��
(So, now you know from where does this trend of wearing large t-shirts came from)
But instead of looking cool, I used to look so scary that even scarecrows would run for their lives seeing me in those clothes.
Asking for new clothes before the lease period is a taboo here.
It's like if you suddenly utter the word "New clothes" the AARTI KI THAALI would be dropped from mom's hand.����
She would call dad saying,
"Aapka ladka naye kapde maang rha hai"
It is so serious that the ground beneath my feet would split wide apart and a bunch of reporters (who were waiting for this day) would come out with all the media and would say,
"Aaye dekhte hai ek dil dahala dene wali wardaat..
Delhi ke ek chhote se kone me ek saahasi bacche ne maange apne maa-baap se kapde..
Maa-baap dono sadme me hai...
Aaiye jaante hai seedha us bahadur bacche se.
Sir bataiye aapne abhi 2 saal pehle hi naye kapde liye...
Uske bawajood bhi naye kapde maangne ki himmat kahan se aai..
Btaiye sir btaiye..
Janta jawab chahti hai..."
And the sound fades away as I fell on the ground fainting in anxiety.
Reporter : Jaisa ki aapne dekha naye kapde maangne me ek insaan ki ruh tak kaanp uthti hai..
Bacche ko abhi aspatal le jaya jayega..
Tab tak ke liye main reporter Karan Cameraman Arjun ke saath aapse alvida lete hai..
P.S. - Recently I went to Karol Bagh for shopping and for the first time I bought clothes for myself (though took two of my generous students with me.. they know fashion well)
Went to at least 30 shops and the answer was same..
"Aapke kapde kids section me milenge sir"
I was like "I'm just in the wrong country..
If it would be China, I would have a variety of clothes to choose from for my size ��"
