UNWAVERING
I should say
when you left me,
I was a tiny bit of an ocean
with gigantic waves of water
that nobody can swim.
I gave you all my fishes,
but you returned them all as fears
that you'll leave me in the middle
of the ocean of my tears.
I knew—
I always knew
that if I let you sail my ship,
you'd take forever
to go back my shore.
But I heard it—
the horizon
that you promised me that night,
the line that took me away,
the line that caused me all the pain.
I was warned—
you're a pirate
that would steal something from me.
yes, you stole away all love I have
without returning any.
But despite the waters waving,
roaring from my grief,
I wish you all the best;
I wish for your safety.
And when you reach the other shore,
I hope you miss the sound of the ocean,
stare at the waters
that will always love you—
it's me,
unwavering;
it will always be me.

Standing in silence,
I listened to the rain,
Nuzzling his shoulder,
To inhale his familiar warmth,
While, he took my hand,
Twining the fingers,
Pulling me closer,
To hush my shivers.
The night sky,
Laden with grey clouds,
Lent us the seclusion,
With an air of solitude.
While, the lonely streetlight,
Reflected the naughtiness,
In his intense gaze,
Too sudden to startle me.
Before I could be wary,
He tripped my foot,
Merely as an excuse,
To hold me closer.
I pouted in anger,
Trying to break free,
Of his sodden hug,
To keep my distance,
He bent closer,
A wayward raindrop,
Falling off his hair,
Onto my cheek,
"The rain was unpredictable,
But my word to my girl isn't!
My promise to you stands,
Even with changing circumstances."
Those words froze me,
With their unwavering sincerity,
Melted both my anger and heart,
As I clasped him tighter,
Oblivious to his drenched shirt.
