    And then comes the sun

    Early morning a soft light
    The clouds better make way
Soon the sun will come up
To bring light to everyone's day

    Today, Somehow
    The robust sun,
    Looks pale.

    I feel
    Pangs of Breathlessness,
    The aftermath.

This noon isn't less than me.
    Greater I am,
    To my day.

    The Universe
    On this very same day,
Millions and millions of light years away,
    A star is born
    And a galaxy is torn.
    Where both creation and destruction
    Can exist in perfect concordance
Is one of the many curious miracles of this Universe.
So at times when you feel hopeless and sad
    Don’t you worry lad.
Realise, that your very existence is a rare phenomenon
For you can dream and create just like this universe!
You are more alive and vibrant than
    Any shooting star or supernova.
So one night, when the sky is filled with celestial light,
Tell yourself, till the end of time
“The universe will look out for me”.

Should the sun come up and I not wake,
Should no more breath from my lips escape,
You may mourn and cry, and weep and wale,
But please understand I'm happy now!
I've finally bear the dark unknown,
And found belonging all my own.
Should the sun soar without me,
Know that I am finally set free.
Know my suffering is no longer in vain,
I'm in peace now, I've beat my eternal pain.
Should the sun arise warm and bright,
    But my body remain cold, my eyes void of light;
Though I be gone, I'm quite alright.
My loves, I no longer have to fight!

    Apocryphal

    The sound of the cicadas
    Screeched in the reddened trees
While rocks from the top tumbled,
    Troubling the levied ravine

A continuous tap, slapped my heel
    Walking step by step
A bicyclists pacing by I could feel,
    Said talking 'on your left'

    The introverted sun
    Was hiding behind the clouds
Ready for the day to done,
    Deciding not to come out

    With timing not impeccable,
    His counter part, the antithetical
    Was rising in the opposite,
Leaving wonders of who was prominent

    The nefarious moon,
    Clocked on to soon
    Creating a curious mind,
To those that do not conform in line

Is it plausible that the impossible,
    By the all seeing eye
    Orderly as chronological
The apocryphal was a true lie

    ROBIN NOT SO HOOD.

Robin, not so hood at this hour of early afternoon,
Sits, feathered quill no longer in hat,
Ears, perked up in focused intent,
Tuned in, to the warm voice of summer's sun,
Allowing, them vibrations to dissolve into the blood,
Which, is later transfused into the anaemic writing pad close by,
Through, the hypodermic that is a master's quill.

    A Happy Place

As the sun peaks over the ocean
Drying up the dew from the dark
    Night before
The ships appear in the distance
Ready for the day to come
    Tourist and beach goers slowly
Make their way to the cold sand
Not yet beaten by the sun, just
    Appearing above the blue waters
To greet the day to come.
    The restaurants nearby begin to
Fill with hungry tourist who will
    Also eventually make their way
To the beach, enjoying the sand between
Their toes and the cool ocean water.
    Bicyclist, skateboarders, and skaters
travel the pavement between the beach
And hotels where I long to be.
Where I find comfort and peace.

    Solis et lunae

    The fabled kingdom of sky
far beyond the reach of mortals,
was ruled by the mighty and powerful Solis.

The kingdom flourished under his rule,
the golden kingdom with the motto of
    truth, duty and honour.

Songs were written to praise the king
and he was rumoured to become the emperor,
the one who rules both halves of the sky.

These tales reached the kingdom of Nox,
    which was ruled by ethereal Queen Luna;
who was blessed with the silver touch.

Both Solis and Luna wished to rule the sky,
they wanted to conquer both the halves -
    the night and day.

Hence began the Battle of Dusk
where Solis conquered Luna and her army of stars.
The skies turned red and everything came to a still as Luna fell.

    She lost the battle,
but managed to capture Solis's heart,
    so he pieced her back bit by bit ;
it took fifteen days for Luna to become whole.

He released the stars - her faithful servants
and gave her his light along with half of the sky.
She now rules the night sky with the help of Solis and the stars.

They rule the sky from opposite ends,
one disappearing when the other appears.
    They meet during the Eclipse,
sharing secrets when the world stills.

    When humankind
    Grew another mind,
    this one evil, no mercy for love;
    the sky looked down
    And a decision was made:
the sun would set every day.

    To remind you
    Of your volatility in death,
    and to show you darkness raw;
to hone your mind till you grow so kind
That you never need another war.

The sun will set every day
On humankind. It's a hint of the
    Eventuality of mortals:
You will see it before you sleep,
the last thing you remember will be the end.

    SUNSET

The rough blending of the first three colours
    in rainbow: fierce red
    Embodiment of flamboyance: orange and
    The shimmering yellow,
    A prepossessing sight to behold,
Hinting at the Night that follows
Filled with idyllic moon and illuminant stars,
And the Satyr that comes at night
    To perform woodland magic
    Without being seen by mortals.
    The darkness spreads;
Carrying soft wind a whisper to my ears,
The beauty of night like a nuzzle on my neck,
The unending saga of sunrises and sunsets
Always a mystery yet to be unfolded...

    Sunset

When the sun was created it made a silent vow.
It would never bend to darkness.
Sweeping across the land with it's rays.
Engulfing the sky with it's brilliance it.
Being bold, and beautiful it shone.
    The sun kept it's vow.
    Never moving, always watching.
Sending down dancing light beams of love.
Until the sun realized she was a star.
    One of infinity.
Without darkness no one would know where she comes from.
No one would gaze on her brothers and sisters.
So slowly she crept. Hoping the sluggishness of her movement would not disturb her silent vow.
Afraid that if she gave way to darkness she would never be able to shine again.
Even so she knew her brothers and sisters would still send down light.
So finally she set. Bending to darkness.
The night sky littered with her world of luminous spheres. Similar to her, but different.
She loved the way her brothers and sisters danced.
Strolling across the land with their luminescents.
She watched, waiting for hours until she rose again. Making a new silent vow to always let her family be seen. Until the end of time.

    Promises

I made a promise, you see,

to the orange sky, to the golden sun.

I told him I was going to get through.

I told him, I'll get past the darkness.

It's been a while and it's still dark.

I miss the orange sky holding the golden sun.

Every day, he must have been rising, waiting for me to show up,

    and I never did.

I got stuck somewhere other than where I was meant to be.

So he must have set every day, wondering, what values do promises really hold.

I want him to believe in promises.

    For that,

I'll have to believe in the light.

    Wonder

First I was a mystical child
    Full of curiosity and wonder
    Half connected
To the place I had been
Before I came to this one.
    And I would remember things
    Not so much in details
    But in feelings, emotions
    Like a pure joy
Or nostalgic longing for my other place, where everything made more sense to my child mind.
Then I tried to tell my mommy
    About the other place
    Where everything had a heartbeat
    And breathing didn't matter.
You could be a piece of granite
    And still feel
Or a caterpillar and still love.
I was taught my ideas were silly.
Just the imagination of a child.
    And then, I became obedient and learned the ways of this place;
How to separate ever little thing from each other and name it, put it into a category so it could be different than me.
But somewhere, underneath this new understanding, my wonder was hibernating, still remembering that every little thing has a heart. A heart not like the hearts of humans, but much the same in function of emotion.
    I held on to that.
Now, I am old woman. I have time to wonder again. Time to remember that long lost place I came from. I think I will be returning there. As I shake off all this separation here. I long for the belonging. Into that cocoon of hearts. All beings together, but having their own feelings. That place felt warm. It had a great yellow sun burning above and around it. It had vibrant green grasses that swayed in skin- prickling winds. And everything was everything. I can hardly wait to get back there. Shake off the lessons of this place. The pulling apart, the loss, the savagery. I never felt at home here. But I had to come, for reasons I haven't yet learned, and may never know.
I'm dreaming now, that familiar emotion of nostalgia, I can almost feel it there...oh that sun is so beautiful and warm on the skin of my mind.
Once I was a mystical old woman. Full of curiosity and wonder, half connected to the place I was before.
