    MARING

    "mangan na po tayo apo"
    ang masayang pagtawag
    nang dalawang bata
    sa isang munting bahay
    sa dalisdis ng burol

    sabay sa pagbuhos ng ulan
    ang pagdadasal ng isang bata
    nang pasasalamat sa biyayang pagsasaluhan
    sabay sa pagbuhos ng ulan
    ang pagdadasal ng isang bata
na ilayo muli sila sa sakuna at kapahamakan

pero tila hindi na naririnig ng langit
    ang samo ng bata
dahil sa lakas ng kanyang pagtangis
    sa patuloy nating paglapastangan
    at pagbalewala sa kalikasan
    hindi na narinig ng langit
    ang pagsamo ng bata
    dahil nilamon na ng lupa
    ang kanilang munting bahay
    sa dalisdis ng burol

    NUISANCE

nakakatawa man nawa sya'y ating tularan

    BBM V LENI

    sa dilaw sa pula
    parehas ng kakasa
    tila ba nagintayan lang
    kung sinong unang magpapasa

    sa pula
    anak ng diktador
kaya marami sa kanya ang tutol
    kasalan ng kanyang ama
    wag daw isisi sa kanya

    sa dilaw
    tauhan ng administrasyong hindi makatao
kaya sa kanya marami ang hindi boto
kahit ilang beses paltan ang kasuotan
    kulay parin nya ay dilawan

    kahit anong gawin
    kahit anong sabihin
    hindi na nila parehong matatakasan
    ang sumpa ng kanyang apelyido
at ang multo ng kanyang dating amo

    COVID RESPONSE

    lumabas na ang anomalya
hindi na kayang takpan ang baho
    krisis sa pandemya
    ginamit para kumita

    gusto daw lamang ay tumulong
    para makaiwas sa impeksyon
    pero mga biniling pang proteksyon
    abot sa langit ang ipinatong

    marami sanang natulungan
kung hindi lang naibulsa ng iilan
ang perang laan sana sa pandemya
    ginamit lang para kumita

    at wala naman daw namatay
    sa mga depektibong pang proteksyon
    na kanilang binili

    ISKO

    loytu na ang pagbotak
    nang yormeng galing sa hirap
    lodi ng lungsod
    kaya maraming tagasunod

    dating taartis
    kaya hinuhusgahan
    nakagawa daw ng tosbas
    pero trabaho lang

    nakayapak ng eta
    kaya nilinis ang lungsod
pati ang mga lokbu at tolonges
    kanyang ibinasura

    kaya sambit ang kanyang pangalan
    nang mga utaw na nakapila
    sa baha
    sa ulanan
    at sa arawan
    "ako si yorme"
    ang aming lodi

    pakman

    kaliwa't kanan ang banat
    sunod sunod
    walang puknat
    sabay sa hiyawan ng tao
    bawat lipad ng kamao

    siniwalat ang anumalya
    inungkat lahat ng baho
    binantaang ikukulong
    ang dating kaalyado

    tuloy na ang laban
    itinaas na ang kamao
    kasabay ng hiyawang

    Here's a poem I wrote circa April 2020 about the power of #prayer. If we #fight by #faith, we'll never #lose

    Laban

    Panahon na.
    Para sumabak sa laban.
    Hindi.
    Hindi tayo gagamit ng kutsilyo.
    Hindi ng pana at palaso.
    Hindi sibat o tabak;
    Hindi baril o bomba;
    Hindi kamao
    ang tatapos ng gulo.
    Buksan mo
    ang mga kamay,
    mag-aalay;
    magsisilbing sulo:
    Dadaloy ang apoy
    sa mga palad
    —maglalayong
    maglayo, mag-aabot;
    maglalapit, mahigpit, kakapit.
    Panahon na.
    Sumabak sa laban!
    Pag-asa,
    sa mga palad na magkadaupa,
    ang iyong sandata.

Yey! It's #BadPoetryDay today! Haha. We can write anything we want to! This piece is inspired from the political circus & drama here in the #Philippines regarding the poor pandemic response. Authorities are currently having a blaming party.

    WASAK

    Wala nang hihigit pa;
    bagsik nitong palasak
    Ang pagkawasak o warak;
pagkayurak ba? Anumang uri ng sira pa–
    Salitang binitawang gulagulanit pa.
    Aasa sa pag-asang pagkakabuo sana;
    lalo't sa paggaling ng madla.
    Kinabukasan, paano na nga ba?

    "MARAWI"
    By: Mia Palencia

Thousands of soldiers are lying on the ground breathless
Fought with an enemy who willing to die faceless
Brothers; yet killing one another mindless
And everybody think the war would ended up endless

The war brought the whole nation a terror
Everyone are screaming with a great horror
Nothing seems to be important even their honor
They feel they are trapped in a wicked mirror

The war leave the city in great chaos
With all the women whose grieving for their loss
But then, it open a new door for us to be reunited in one cause
And that is to bring the city of Marawi to its foremost

    **

TRIVIA: ©The Battle of Marawi, also known as the Marawi siege or the Marawi crisis, was a five-month-long armed conflict in Marawi, Lanao del Sur, Philippines that started on May 23, 2017 between the Philippine government security forces and militants affiliated with the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), including the Maute and Abu Sayyaf Salafi jihadist groups. The battle also became the longest urban battle in the modern history of the Philippines.

    "PRAYER IS POWERFUL"

In 2018, I earnestly prayed that the Philippines win the Crown for the #Miss #Universe. Oh, how great God is and how brilliant #Catriona #Gray is that she (Catriona) was crowned as the winner.

In the past days, due to personal reasons, I felt like... instead of praying that the Philippines win, I hoped, "Lord, Thy Will Be Done;" "May it be so that whoever the winner you planned to be, may it bring you greater glory. May it be according to Your will."

However, what my school principal did brought me to further hoping. He sent us a template of an excuse letter if ever we want to watch Miss Universe today, Monday. The letter includes that it would be a shame for us as Filipinos if we don't support our country's candidate, which is #Rabiya. Therefore, I hoped, "May Philippines be at least in the Finals/Top." O, again, how great God is and how great prayers are. I heard the news and also saw this photo: Miss Rabiya is in the Top 21.
    .
    .
    .
Please, it's not my intention to boast of myself. But see, O how powerful prayer is! Well, to note, aside from the support and prayers of supporters like me, if ever they win, it's because of their own prowess, and of course, God's grace.

James 5:16 states that, “The prayer of a righteous [hu]man is powerful and effective.”

But the righteousness that I have is not because of me, but because of Jesus who won the (spiritual) war at the cross for me and everybody.
    .
    .
    .
Credits and thanks to tribune.net.ph for the photo.

    #CONGRATS! Miss Rabiya Mateo.

    Comment a good title !

When your ember seems to lose light
When the light seems out of sight
When your sight to hope turns blind
When you're turning down your flight

    Those claustrophobic times
Crying with highest pitch of sighs
    Numb arms and limbs
    Unheard roaring cry

    Lit your candle again

    *Philippines mythical creature part 1*

White Ladies, indigenously known as kaperosa, are popular ghost story topics in the Philippines. White Ladies are often used to convey horror and mystery to young children for storytelling. Sightings of White Ladies are common around the country. The most prominent one is the White Lady of Balete Drive in Quezon City. It is said that it is the ghost of a long-haired woman in a white dress who, according to legend, died in a car accident while driving along Balete Drive.

Most stories about her were told by taxi drivers doing the graveyard shift, such as when a taxi crosses Balete Drive, and a stunning woman is asking for a ride. The cabbie then looks behind and sees the woman's face was full of blood and bruises, causing him to abandon his taxi in terror.

In other instances, it is said that when solitary people drive on that street in the early morning, they briefly see the face of a white-clad woman in the rear-view mirror before she quickly disappears. Some accidents on this road are blamed on apparitions of the White Lady.

PS: Since we talk about paranormal things I wanted to share my sister experienced to (@your_daily_dose_of_haunting ).

    HAUNT

People who caused you pain may not be with you now
But memories will haunt you whenever and wherever you go
It can make you feel like you're still there

    MORE

The problem with me is I keep wanting more
whenever i get what I want.

I just don't know how to name it.

    Strangers call it greed

But those persons who knows me, call it "longing"

    I'm not really sure

Whatever it is, i'll just leave it up to you

    Long talks,
    Great stories.
    Lunches and dinners,
    Coffee breaks.
    How lucky am I,
as you share it with me.

    Hobbies, books, and stories,
"How can I even stop thinking about those?"
    It will always remind me,
    of our cherished moments.

    You were precious to me,
I cannot seemed to find flaws.
    Since you made me love,
    your imperfections,
    All at once.

You were from the darker side.
Afraid to dance with your demons again.
Afraid to fall into the abyss.
Afraid to swim a never ending sea.
    Afraid to climb great heights,
only to fall the greatest fall.
And then you said it yourself,
    I was like your light.
Seems like a beautiful tragedy, it is.
    We met at last.
