Now that we are sitting miles apart
I still read the book you gave me 'cause it smells like you....

रिहा कर उन्हें अब हमें है सताया,
बताया उन्होंने ही आकर हमें ये,
कि तुमने उन्हें भी बड़ा है सताया।
क्या ज़ालिम हो तुम भी, उन्हीं की तरह ही,
ये पहले कभी भी ना तुमने बताया,
जो अब तक था, झूठा था क्या वो नज़ारा,
मोहब्ब्त को क्या तुमने झूठा निभाया!
हैं हम भी तो इंसां, ना भूलोगे शायद,
हमें भी तो तुमने है झूठा जताया,
थे गर्दिश के तारे ग़ुलामी पे तेरी,
रिहा कर उन्हें अब हमें है सताया।
मुनासिब हो शायद ग़ुलामी हमें भी,

CHEATED LOYALITY
It was still dawn when I stepped out of the cab and walked towards the entry gate of the Delhi airport. The early morning February air was pleasantly cold I was travelling to Bangalore to attend a college friend’s wedding. It had been four years since we graduated from the same college. This wedding was also going to be a reunion of our batch mates. But what I didn’t know was that the reunion would begin much ahead of time; right in the queue in front of the airline counter.
I was almost sure it was she. Same height! Same long hair! Same complexion! Curiosity had my eyes glued to her. And then about 60-odd seconds later, when she turned, she proved me right. My ex-girlfriend stood two places ahead of me in that queue. We had never met after the college farewell.
My feet got paralyzed for a moment and my body turned into a mountain too stiff to move. The flashbacks of past hilted my concise like a fast moving bullet train. An unknown thrill and gravity absorbed my soul in it as if I was standing alone at that airport and the only figure which my eyesight could recognize was her.

बहुत लिख लिया, बहुत दिल में है मेरे,
कुछ सोचा नहीं, कुछ ज़हन में है मेरे,
कलम, स्याही, जज़्बात हर कतरे में हैं मेरे,
फ़िर भी लगता है ख़याल ख़तरे में हैं मेरे।
ख़याल मेरे ही हैं, पर मेरे जैसे और भी तो हैं,
मुझसे ज़्यादा और बेहतर लिखावट का वो खाते कौर भी तो हैं,
इस बार निवाला बेशक़ डर के गले से उतारा है,
मैं हारूँगा नहीं पर, इस बात पर गौर भी तो है।
बहुत वक़्त ग़ुज़र चुका है पर, जीतने का सबब महसूस नहीं होता,
पर बात तो वो भी है कि हर एक जौहर कोई घूस नहीं होता।
बाज़ी पक्की है, जीत नहीं, मैं हार सकता हूँ,
हारने का शौक़ नहीं तो मैं बाज़ी मार सकता हूँ,
कभी आख़री बाज़ी नहीं खेलूँगा मैं लेकिन,
ख़तरे ख़यालों के ही दिल से उतार सकता हूँ।
अब बख्श कर ख़ुद को इनायत लौटता हूँ मैं,
कि क्या हुआ ग़र डर भी कुछ क़तरे में है मेरे,
सब ख़ुद से है, ख़ुद ही से डरना सीखना है अब,
कि क्या हुआ जो ख़याल भी ख़तरे में हैं मेरे।

हम इश्क़ की तावीज़ों को पहने बैठे हैं,
हर बात पे कहता "क़ाफ़िर तुम हो बिन मेरे"।
ये शहर जला है, जलता रहेगा ऐसे ही,
बनते-बनते भी कमी कोई रह जाएगी,
जिस बात को पूछते-पूछते थक जाएँगे वो,
उस बात को आँखे ही एक दिन कह जाएंगी।

Waiting at the door, hoping you'll come now and then
I would enjoy every moment again and again
Hearing you're trying to lighten up everybody's house
With the cheerful smile even in the hardest of cause
I could sacrifice my feelings while you're protecting
All the other daughters.

#brokenheartToday I'm being a different me. Don't want to heal. I want to feel the pain burn inside my veins as the blood travels through my body. I want to feel the rage that can't be controlled by my meditating. I want to scream and yell and become the crazy person which I keep hidden which I know I can be. I wanna run out into the streets and proclaim in victory, "This is me. This is my life!" I want to do all the things that mentally ill people are supposed to do by those beliefs that ignorant people believe. I am not an angel. I am the devils daughter. That's why my demons never leave me. I will not get healthier. I will stay shackled to the prison I live in within my mind. Definitely! Today I'm not gonna be anything else but the fucked up girl I've always been. And today its ok.
