A March Meeting
A meeting of minds;
we numbered three,
spent a night in March to see:
If open talks, and humble minds,
could form bonds, and ties that bind.
We spoke of wisdom,
and what that means.
Unmet potentials,
and what they leave.
We mapped the maze,
and found the key:
“When you know what was,
You know what can be.”
As time passed,
we shared epiphanies;
Each one, like grade school,
The next, university.
We made a log
of lessons we
learned sub-syntax
without index to read.
This brilliant book,
our manuscript,
earned its intro;
exordium hook:
“We dedicate
what these pages state
to moments in time;
and twists of fate:
A page of prose,
then poetry.
The next, a landscape,
then a diary”

The eye I stare into is alive
With emotion, colour and life
I stare deeper and see me
I smile and his eye widen
He was about to say something
When a clap of thunder
Bought us together
Hanging on to each other
For dear life
A second later
It could have been two or three
We realised what had happened
And laughed awkwardly
But it was cut short
By our mutual gasp and a torrent of rain
As if of one accord
We join hands
Soft and firm hands
Escaping the beatings
Of a harsh weather
Under the shade of a large tree
Did we find refuge
Laughing hard we forget the immediate issue
Despite it been a first
And we seems to bind
We were still complete strangers
Thou' I found it difficult
To open my mouth and ask
I still did

पहली मुलाकात
आज तुमसे हमारी पहली मुलाकात थी,
ना जाने उसमे क्या बात थी|
ना कोई रिश्ता था तुमसे हमारा,
और ना ही कोई पहचान थी|
फिर भी इस दिल ने कहा,
कि एक दफा तुमसे बात करू,
बस एक दफा तुमको जान लू |
पर हमको क्या पता था,
कि ये दिल तुमसे इस कदर जुड़ जाएगा,
खुलेगा बातों का ख़जाना और,
आँखों से दरीया बहता जाएगा|
जन्म -जन्म का तो पता नहीं,
मगर इस जन्म में हमारा साथ चलता जाएगा|
भले हि ना रहना तुम साथ हमारे,
मगर तुम्हारा अक्स मेरे साथ चलता जाएगा|

Meeting new people
Meeting new people is like sharing the contents of your book with someone and scanning the chapters one by one in search of common chapters. We will surely find atleast one common chapter. It's just that we need to have patience and scan till the last. I think that's why we say "we all are made from the same piece of cloth"

Seconds
I feel like having a good deep nap everyday,
But I fear that I might loose out the seconds
That I have to miss you and live your memories
Cause sub consciously I am counting milli seconds
Just to know in how many such seconds
I would get to see you all over again

कुछ उखड़ी ईंटे, थोड़ी उखड़ी लिपाई की दीवार थी,
पास नदी का शोर था, पर बस सन्नाटे की ही चीख थी।
ज़मीन ठंडी पड़ी थी, शाम का आखिरी पैगाम था,
सोच में गुम, वो एकटक ताक़ रही थी अपना घर।
धूमिल होती रोशनी में भी, आँखे चुप्पी लिए चमक रही थी,
सूती साड़ी, और झुर्रियों में गुदाई हुई लकीरें साफ़ बोल रही थी।
चाँद अब लट्टू सा चमक रहा था, पर घर का बंद था,
मैंने हिचकिचाते हाल पूछा, हल्के से फिर वो फुसफुसाई,
"तार कटी हैं, दिहाड़ी घर पहुंच नही पाती हैं,
फ़ैक्ट्री की रोशनी, शाम साढ़े छे के बाद वहीं रह जाती हैं।
इस बार बारिश ने सितम कम ढायें, कुछ ईंटे ही उखड़ी है,
और अभी तार कटी है, शायद अगले सावन नदी घर ही काट ले जायें",
इतना बोल वो फिर ताक़ने लगी अपना घर।
उसकि एकटक नज़रो की थी ज़बान-ए-कहानीकार,
मेरी नज़रें तमाशबीन, अनचाहे भी किस्से बटोरने की गुनहगार।
पाँच मिनिट की मुलाक़ात, पन्नो में कैद ये बात,
दफ़्तर दफ़्तर घूम रही बस, बड़ी सी फाइल में एक छोटी सी तकरार।

We, drifted apart
As the life had to be, onwards to
Something different, something new
Memory was all that we were to each other

Evoking a smile & a lingering warmth

My senses went haywire
OMG... after ages
How familiar was the hand that held mine
Eyes that forever used to talk to mine
That smile, that used to make my heart flip
Booming laugh that did just the right trick
Joy was all I could feel
Seeping through every pore of my body
Happy contentment of witnessing you
Pleasure of this serendipitous moment of
meeting again
All we inquired incredulously was ...
Oh, how are you?
Grabbing a cup of coffee... together
We walked down the memory lane
Reflecting on the moments,
That were never to come again

बर्खास्त
ह्रदय का हिस्सा हुआ अब बिकना
बाज़ारो में नीलामी की दर्खास्त हुई
उस प्यार का किस्सा क्या लिखना
एक बैठक थी .. बर्खास्त हुई
शिशुओं के अकारण क्रंदन में
शिलाओं के प्रतिवर्ष अपरदन में
क्या अचरज हुआ, क्या नई बात हुई
फिर क्यों तुम आश्चर्य करते हो,
असम्भव अपेक्षाएं करते हो..
शतायु तारो के टूटने पर,
धरा से लावा फूटने पर
ना अफसोस हुआ, ना बहस हुई
फिर क्यों प्रतिपल टूटते हो,
एकांत अश्रुओं को फूटते हो..
अब मासुमियतों का बंद है दिखना
नैतिकता की अब बर्दाश्त हुई..
ह्रदय का हिस्सा हुआ अब बिकना
बाज़ारो में नीलामी की दर्खास्त हुई
उस प्यार का किस्सा क्या लिखना
एक बैठक थी .. बर्खास्त हुई
