The path to unknown freedom
I walk the hot sunny road,
With the desert following me on the sides,
An angry sun above the windy wrinkles,
With me somehow he too glides.
My throat is dry,
I lick the sweat of my face,
It doesn't help me though,
I still am leaning towards darkness.
I see a watery body ahead,
I know it must be a mirage,
I stumble but I run ahead so fast,
And I fall on the road so large.
I have a scratch on my feet so big,
Can't seem to hurt though,
I never thought I would be able to get up and still go
But a sound beckoned me, I heard the voice,
I raise my eyes to see and I started walking slow,
Up ahead in the distance, I saw a shimmering light,
I knew it is a living tree, I knew it could be a sight.
I ran again towards it,
And kept running,
The mirage seems to be now distant,
It too, Seems to be running.
Till I reached the tree now,
It felt so green to me, asking me to sit,
There was a lady sitting,
On the pavement next to it.
I spoke to her "Are you the angel of the desert OR are you an illusion?"
She said "i am you inner strength and inspiration!"
I said "Where do I go, will you be my guide?"
She said "Don't worry my dear, I will alway be by your side"
"Where are you though", I say "Are you here or in the plane of dreams?"
"Are you sure I am here, or fooled by your own illusions, it seems?"
She whispers, "I am here, there, everywhere my child
In your thoughts, in the sky, in the wild"
I said "Show me the path dear angel, for I seek the eternal truth,
I seek to attain the epitome of real happiness
for I seek the time that is standstill
for I seek to master my not-so-free will"
"Free-will is an illusion, a whim and a mirage that flatters
You daily grind is just meaningless, in a world that eventually shatters
The pain in this world is a by product of your wants and needs
That you must realise the futility of it all and surrender all your deeds
That you must realise the futility of it all and surrender all your deeds"
