    Perhaps the concept
    Of an epic love
    Is better when it is
    Buried in pages
    Of old grey books
    Captive in the racks
    Of a library
    For the walls to hear
    The eternal love
    The happy ever after
The promise of forever and ever
    Trapped in the spider webs
    Covered in dust
    Meant for the cliche
    Hopeless romantics
    Aware of the realities
    Without any worries of future
    With everyday almost
Being the same good old day
    Just a sip of coffee
    And turning the pages

Saare hisab dhare ke dhare reh gaye
Kuch the receipt nd payment library me jo profit & loss nd balance sheet me match krne reh gaye
Ab lgta library bnd hi ho gyi
Kyuki saare loss hume hi mil gaye
Concept going concern ko apnaya tha ki life time sath chalenge
Lekin vo toh phele hi chhod gaye
Socha ab kabhi ni milega loss
Lekin vo itne loss de gye
Ki life tym recovery me bhi pura na ho sake
Life ki balance sheet ko is tarah unbalance kiya ki asset se jyada liability de gaye

    Her corner of happiness ❤️

You want to find where she is?

Go there..where there are endless numbers of hot cups of coffee & sleepless nights. Go there..where she's herself, go where there are tears, laughter, love, mysteries, autobiographies. Go there..where there are endless numbers of journeys. Go there..where she's most happy, go to a place where her anger turns into happiness. Go there.. where she's silent & will punch you if you will make noise. Go there..in her own world, where she's home--- Go in a library & make sure you carry a hot cup of coffee; she's not gonna leave her corner of happiness ever.

    Adventure

    I am a bookworm
    Both fat and round
    I’m leafy green in color
And live to put on more pounds

    Whenever I am hungry
The next door book I mount
    While the fans twirl noisily
No one hears the munching sound

    Everyday is an adventure
    Of grand planned tours
Of train trips and sinking ships
    Or of history galore!

Many a sob story I’ve eaten
    Many a broken heart defiled
    Several pages I have munched
Of stories of blood bonded ties

    My favourite section is drama
Where the great sagas are stored
And I can hog to my heart’s content
    And make a hundred holes

    Physics, science and chemistry
    Are no fun for me
    Their glossy stiff pages
    Make a shabby meal

    Newsprints are more friendly
    To visit everyday I’m told
Apparently no one cares for them
If they get more than a day old

    My lavish life of comfort
    Is one of endless possibilities
And my in between travelling is comfy
As I reside in the city library

If you do ever spot me
    Kindly restrain a scream….
Remember to return the books on time
You could be reading my next meal

    Library Of The Heart

    As a librarian
my job was dull and long
til a certain book was brought home
a book of an unknown era
so mysterious the book had no cover
I was astonished of this piece
the client who left it didnt see it as a masterpiece

I opened the book with the upmost care
seeing the pages brought me to an admirable stare
for the age had no effect on its ink
    left bemused and puzzled
I quickly got lost in its ink
a book like this is hardly ever seen

Time flew by as I examined its pages
never realizing the spell of its pages
    lost in thought and story
my heart seem to had found its own story
other books under my care became jealous
for my attention to them had become fruitless

I never seen such a item
to luck I was blessed to be given this item
    my bookstore has many books
yet I fell in love with the very first look
never have I been so entrenched in something
to be given something so special by a stranger
so now this book is my heart and will never be shelved

    Library

Have you ever spent the night studying in a library before?
I feel the world go to sleep around me, while my mind is wide awake and the air is heavy with knowledge, soaked in a thirst for what the world has to offer, knowing well that there is so much lying below the surface that I will never be able to reach, but finally perceiving a notion of what there might be.
Dusty books, some, if not many, older than I am, written by authors and poets that have found in their hearts enough passion for a subject to put pen to paper and start writing, creating entire worlds of which some now lay misplaced or forgotten, until somebody feels themselves being pulled in by their gravity and on the first page finds a gate to a story disguised as black letters on yellowing paper.
Have you ever spent the night studying in a library before?
Thousands of silent voices fill the air, and with every breath I take, I can feel ink flowing through my veins as the right words find their way into my mind and onto the piece of paper in front of me. I feel like I know things I have never heard of before, but every time I reach for them, they escape me, and so I let them be, let them stay with me for the time being, allow the space between knowledge and ignorance to fill with paragraphs that make me feel whole.
Have you ever spent the night studying in a library before?
It's finding a connection through loneliness and existing inside a timeless space as I watch the hours rush by; it's looking through a window and not seeing a dark nightsky, but instead losing myself in the reflection shelves containing a thousand books; it's the scents of aging paper and coffee that make my mind feel clouded and clearer than ever before at the same time.
    Tell me:
Have you ever spent the night studying in a library before?

    The House of Books

    The night had came
    The moon was shining overhead
I have always loved the dark nights
And not the sun, so fiery red.
    Everyone will see me
In the light of the sun.
Will see what I really am
And will laugh and make fun.
    But the silent nights,
    Won't shine like day,
    They won't betray
And i can easily hide away.
    I'll crawl so noiselessly
    That no one would know
Once i have reached my temple,
With respect, i will kneel and bow.
    The aroma of the room
Is like the closet of broom
    The books covered with dust
    And the doors with rust.
But the nature of the library
    Is like no other
It is like the same feeling
When i am with my mother.
    I wandered around
Walking down the house of books
    Feeling the pleasantness
    And exploring all the nooks.
Just then, my eyes fell on it
    The book with the scars
But its black and shiny cover
    Made them look like stars.
    I grabbed it
And ran back to my bed.
    The blanked wrapped around me
    The whole night i read.
    I couldn't resist
    Myself from reading the words
    They jumped around me
    And flew like birds
    But i grasped them
Held them tight in my palm
    They reduced my anxiety
They made me feel so calm
    I am the witch
    Books are my magical wand
    They are my best friend
    We have a special bond!!

Libraries, I don't know how many of you are attracted towards these chambers of rooms but definitely I am one of those bookworms who do not need anything else if you put me into a room full of books. Well as if the books I had in my home weren't enough that I took this additional subscription to a library cum cafe near my place. I always liked spending times with books, we get to know so many stories from them, get a chance to enrich ourself and enhance our tiny brains. Well today was my first day at this particular library cum cafe which was quite a famous for it's ambience.

I felt a little awkward as I stepped in and found it a bit unusual like the other libraries I had visited. It had more of a sitting arrangements on the ground with beds spread and pillows on either sides, accompanied by a rack and some stool upon which you can keep the order while you read and savour. The other side was complete opposite with a full occupied cafe with lots of charters and laughter going on..as if two different world existed within a same room, one completely silent and peaceful and the other completely loud and uproarious. Well I slid the glass and entered my silent palace, ordered tea, stepped in, occupied one corner and started reading one book. There wasn't a single soul in my space and I was enjoying it actually. Sipping slowly and engrossed in my fictional romantic encounters of the characters I was smiling and blushing along, and that is when I noticed a guy sitting straight opposite from me, staring me continuously. For a minute I was like, he might be enjoying the view outside the window behind me, but no his glare was intense and focused upon me. Something I am not used to at all. I felt uncomfortable and thought of leaving and arrive some other day. As I stood up, he smirked and said, "the stars are witnessing the dept of love I have held for you, thy shyness cannot deny or suppress the thumping of the beats within your heart. They know what they feel, they recognize me unlike your brain that is forcing you to doubt my intentions."
I was shocked it were the same lines from the book I was reading, said by the protagonist while confessing his feelings. I was confused as to why he is delivering the same to me. I looked around again to find anybody else in the room and nope there wasn't anyone, only me and him. He was smiling and staring me and no matter how much I controlled my cheeks were starting to glow red too. I looked across the glass door and saw someone calling him out in actions.

Well before he said anything more, I left the room paid for my order and exited the cafe cum library. I felt his eyes upon me from the windows but I didn't have the courage to look back and talk anything so I left hoping I don't meet him ever again.

First thing's first, this post is inspired by one of the original pieces written by @vichus and so a huge shoutout there. That post reminded me of how much I have missed the library space. It's close to a year now that we are imprisoned inside the confines of our homes due to the unprecedented pandemic. Being a Kashmiri, it's actually been longer still for me because it was like an "out of the frying pan and into the fire" like situation for us. Until the lockdowns were imposed, I used to visit Shri Pratap Singh Library every single day without a fail. Even if I did not do serious research there, there was something in the air that compelled me to want to stay there.

Anyway, I decided recently to set up my own library at my place this year and it was my New Year's resolution. So far I have managed to catalogue 468 books including reference books, novels, periodicals, magazines, comics, etc. I have decided that I will keep this place open for anyone who wants to just be around books, read them, feel them and cherish them. So, here is a poem on those lines and I genuinely ask you all to give me suggestions on this little project. Like if you love libraries and reading, what is it that you expect to see in such a library?

Looking forward to your valuable inputs.

    I miss libraries

I see them from a distance
    neatly stacked rows of books.

    They look like colourful matrices
lined up opulently till the nooks.

    These aisles radiate a coherence
like a chessboard anchors its rooks.

A book lover, I stand mesmerised
as if stupefied by my sweetheart's looks.

An eternity passes me by in a jiffy
while I feel a tug from time's hooks.

Pulling me away from my reclusive trance
It transports me back to the chock-full souks.

    The Library

    Welcome welcome everyone and all,
It really doesn’t matter whether you’re rich or poor,
Please choose the book that will more likely keep you hooked,
And please choose the snack that will probably keep you full.
     .

Go search through the piles of stories and books,
Ask for help if needed, librarians will always greet it,
And from all the chairs and couches, it will always be quiet,
For you to dive into your imagination and turn your brain bright.
     .

The library is like magic, inside it there are powerful books,
that will throw you in adventures, even explorers never took.
     .

the library is like a palace for everyone to enjoy,
but only few will appreciate it, and will take some books back home.

    A Vision's Road

    It remained a dream
Until control was placed in my mind
Cleaned the stains left by a low self esteem
So my soul and reflection could see each others eyes

    Once my thoughts were understood
A dream began to manifest and slowly matured
Negativity continued to roam my mind, but my stride was secure

Still a bit insecure, but I could endure further than it's hold
Despite the intensity of my storms, the vision guides my soul
Some nights, I have to fight a negative mind on my own
But when the sun rises, a focused mind keeps me aligned on my vision's road

    The books whisper stories
    Of the dead and undead
    Of the mortal and immortal
    Of the love and hate.

    The dust hold memories
    Of long forgotten tales
    Of legends and myths
    Of never-ending trails.

    The silence holds answer
    Of all the unasked questions
Of all the thoughts of solitude
Of all the dreaming of chaos.

The books and dust and silence
    The key to our lives
    The beginning and the ending
    One just needs to dive.

    Red

I am a red telephone box residing
In the northwest corner of her room
I am dearly loved and protected
Because for her books I am the tomb

    My classic British kiosk design
And her extreme adoration for me
Pairs well with the map of old Britain
Hanging behind her bed you see

I was designed and made especially
To fit the space I now occupy
I am exact replica of my brothers in the UK
Except that I house books quite high

On the glass shelves inside me
She trusts me with her collection vast
Traversing through trips and sinking ships
Slow dramas and spy novels fast

    Although I’m British by birth
And bear an age old “telephone” sign
No golden coronation crown of Edward
    Above it you will find

Her love for my city of origin
Elates me and makes me gleam with glee
She doesn’t trust anyone with my contents though
And keeps me forever under lock and key

I would like to emphasise my importance
Not only for my well known classic design
But for the fact that I am a wooden library
    Making me her favourite shrine

    I'm a traveler.
I've been to places unknown to common folks
Met strangest of beings ever existed.
I've been to past as well as the future.

    I've been a princess
    Locked up in a tower
    I've been smartest witch
    You'd ever encouter

    I've faced mighty storms
Spent days alone in the sea
    Solved toughest of mysteries
I'm a detective as well , you see
Or I might be a murderer in disguise
    Revenging hypocratic societies

    I've fallen for a vampire,
    A knight in shining amour
    I've cried over lost love
And have lived many happily after

    I've felt the fear
    Of living admist a war
    The bloodshed
And pain of loosing the dear

    In between those pages
    I've lived many lives
    I've seen the world
    Both real and otherwise
