तो लक्ष्मी का विस्तार सारा,
विडम्बना देख, सरस्वती होकर भी तू ज्ञान से वंचित रही ।
तेरे कृष्णवर्ण को मुंह काला समझने की जो गलती करे ,
अब उठ स्वयं, खड़ग उठा ,क्यों इन दरिंदो से डरे।
तेरे स्वाभिमान की रक्षा करने के लिए
तुझे धूल से उठना होगा,
अपने नजरो में झुकी,
तुझे खुद में उभरना होगा।

One of us, it seems, has lost interest
In constructing this love nest
Or maybe even both of us,
The reason is stated thus
For days now running into weeks
I have not heard your sweet loud shreiks

But somehow I cannot get you to speak
It is as though our hearts' signals have gone weak
We are not so close anymore
It's as though, ourselves we now bore.
Hence we decide to keep our distance
And give miles a chance.
Probably to keep things fresh or something
But I know one thing
We are not as close as we use to be
It is very clear to see
Back then we spoke to each other like our lives depended on it
It was, to say the least, very lit
But now we hardly even speak
It as though one of us is at a mountain's foot and the other at its peak.
Hence communication have become impossible
Our thoughts remain in us, intransmissible
Truth be said I miss those days of old
When our friendship felt like pure gold
We both cared about its protection
But now we have lost that connection.
We are now to each other nothing more than just another random fellow
It hurts deeply; It dims my glow.
This silence I deeply abhor
