The Heart's Conundrum
Yes, a part of the old me has moved on
With new dreams in my triumphant eyes,
New heart that beats for new adventures
Erasing all the scars of the troubled paradise.
But I worry about the other half
The part that's still awake at night
Still rewinding the good and the bad
Fighting a dilemma of wrong and right.
A part that still holds on to hope
Believes that it's a nightmare that'll go away,
This little window of indelible hope
Makes my heart swing in a hypnotic ballet.
I lie awake at midnight, eyes wide open
Knitting a future of impossible delusions,
I fear this part will never recover from hope
I'm forever bound to it by a strong collusion.
Behind all those sunshine smiles
A dark cloud of doubt will always hide,
Remnants of a stubborn illusion of love
In an invisible crate, this secret will forever reside.
