    Refection On My Detention

22nd of May three days before George Floyd, was a black man from U.K who said “I can’t breathe” never knowing set words would be part of history.

Over joyed when George Floyd got justice, but it never answered for many that were murdered before and to this date, the system has always been corrupted.

I found my fairness with great friends, all different races made sure I got the gold in the end, the perfect barista and set of judges, mixed with my good character, no racist pig can F#%K with.

Though not much has changed in that system and people only think black lives matter when it’s sponsored by an algorithm, I myself am grateful for the voices of difference, who intend to unblind justice with their vision, George Floyd is 1 victory, now let’s get the other 999,999 their winning.

    God, Please
    Spare Everyone
    From These Traumatic Experiences
Please Bless All Who Experienced Them,
To Help Them Have Already Succeeded
    And Overcome..

    We Was Discussin’
    The Public and the cussing
    Should We adjust it?
    To what extent
should We Incite & Advocate for Justice
    But it’s troub’lin

    Incumbents
    these muthafuckas are fuckin disgustin
Got you plugged into The Matrix
while haters subjugate and rape Us,
Life Taken, We don’t make it to hospitalization
to have the option to pull the plug
Never Got To Put The Plug In

Who are the real thugs then?
Not the Crip or Blood Men
    the boys in blue
    accustomed
    to bustin
    without repercussions
    Plant some drugs and
brush it under the rug, then
make the “news” about The Russi@ns

    With that type of corruption
How could We possibly Trust em?

    8 Minutes! 46 Seconds!
    That’s intent, it’s not reckless
    He knew there was
    no pulse left, this b**ch
    checked it!

    Pardon the cursing
But this jerk did it purposely
    So what’s your promise
of police reform worth to me?
    A grain of salt
    just more perjury
    Cuz that wasn’t cursory,
    it was certainly
    Murder in The First Degree!

    Never mind the sadistic statistics
    of making it to University
In “The Land of The Free”
    Red, White & Blue
    If your skin is black
    You treated Merc’lessly
    and this serpenty
System is viciously fighting Versus Thee
since You burped in The Nursery
Numerically, You probly don’t make it to 33

But ask Brothers across the planet:
    That ain’t News
    Walk In Their Shoes
It just finally got some twitter views
    Peacefully Protesting, you get ridiculed
    You would be bitter too
    One Nation, Indivisible
But that Liberty and Justice You Pledged
    Just Isn’t True
    It Doesn’t Exist, It’s Invisible
    Guess it was written to
Exclude a specific group of individuals
    So you imbeciles
    In your living room
View as police get to shoot
    And execute
    Whoever they want, defining formidable
    Your Compassion is miniscule
As you judge them from the kiddie pool
    But I Promise:
    The Repercussions Gon’ Be Biblical
You’ll Have To Pay For That
    Truly, I Pity You

    -- NOTE --

"Noitulove" is "Evolution" spelt backwards. This is also the first full poem I've made for 32 days now.

I have also heard news of a plane crash in Kerala, India, perishing at least 18 lives! Deepest condolences to the families affected by this!
    .
    .
    .
    ~~ Noitulove ~~

Classify our skin colors by our shade
But never will all rodomontades fade
All eyes maudlin as it slyly leaks pride
Now viral online, now viral worldwide

Seek for lavas, and algid words you seek?
    Unctuous enough, everywhere to speak
Others candid; expect their vile rebound
And all storms a day to hot rocks all bound

Affairs and disharmony grows by us
All night, and limelights we carelessly lust
To dusty minds, spiders dangling along
And disaster leaks like the dams gone wrong

Now serves right when our places all explode
The poor's poorer; corrupt stays in abodes
Look how dollars all float in gasoline
One spark, and set ablaze solely unseen

Let's go back to where colors are classified
And a death for scorn is identified
A system encoded within our minds
Hard to break off, but easy to speak blind

To end, we are just circling around where?
The lines wearing off to show; we don't care
    Evolution goes backwards every day
And what else to excuse, what will you say?

Accept the fate, but we are just blank fools
No peace applied, we go by our own rules
    .
    .
    .
    -- SUMMARY --

This expresses the fact that we get more divided and disharmonious as more situations unfold globally. This exacerbates the already divided society, caused by our own wrongdoings.

I can only cite a few examples of real-life events I implied in the poem:

The third stanza's ending lines are a reference to the the Three Gorges Dam situation and floods in China; the fourth stanza is about the Beirut explosion, while the fifth stanza is about George Floyd's death.

    -- VOCABULARY --

    1 | rodomontade - boastful speech
2 | maudlin - showing emotions obviously or tiresomely
    3 | algid - cold
    4 | unctuous - hypocritical
    5 | candid - showing truthfulness
6 | rebound - a reaction to setback, frustration or crisis
    7 | affair - matter; concern
    8 | limelight - a center of public attraction
    9 | scorn - open dislike toward someone/something

    RACISM

I'm the darker brother they send into the kitchen
    When company comes.
I'm the darker brother running the mines
While the white folks sits on their porches.
Excuse me, You dropped your white privilege
Must be real hard not being discriminated against.
Got every job you applied for
Because your name didn't sound black?
With money, you could buy the same cloths I wear
And still not get to be called a thug.
I know death like the back side of my palms.
Watching as Black folks drops dead on the street
Like grains of sand on an hourglass.
    It's really hard you know,
Having been to 15 burials in the last two years.

It's really hard for me not to act black
    While I am black.
It's really hard for you to consider me human
    While I am human.
DIVERSITY they say is a Different Individual
Valuing Each other Regardless of Skin colour, Intellect, Talent or Years lived
    But what do we get
    Racist lurking everywhere
Black folks convinced that all is well
While in truth , they have been lied to.

It was not supposed to be like this
We were taught that the colour on our skins
    Do not define us
But why then do their actions speaks louder then the words they inscribed into our hearts.

I ask myself, why does colour matters alot?
Does being white or dark have any difference?
Why does Job opportunities have a hidden specification for a particular colour?
Must I be white to get the world's approval?
Is there like a superiority complex attached to being white such that being black is seen as a crime or a misfortune of some sort?
Why do the police who are employed to protect us end up killing us and call it self defence?
Is anything wrong with my colour?
Is anything wrong in being black?
Is there something am not doing right
    Not to be accepted?
    Black or white?
Why is being white or black a standard for defining one's worth?
    A standard for judgment?
    Why?

    Racism!!
A torn in the flesh of humans
A failure on the human system
A loop in the survival of humanity.
Lives always matters regardless of it being either white or black
Living is built and structured for all, not segregated.
The soul knows no colour neither does the mind not the heart
Then why segregate when we can integrate our differences and surface our racial anomalities .
Why the pain when we can avoid it all leaving no void for human jeopardy.
Let's all pause for a moment and vision a world without racism.
    Living knows no colour.
Let's all live as one without Discrimination.

    I'm angry. I'm tired.
    I can't breathe anymore.
    If you can't do something,
the walls are gonna cry out.

    We all are human beings
with the same right to live.
    Black is only a colour
    which you manipulated at times.

Sometimes, black is beauty and poetry,
but sometimes, it's ugly and rude.
    Why don't you realize that
we all have our blood in red?

    Dear Mr. Floyd,
I’m sorry, from one human being to another.
I’m sorry that you ever had to suffer.
I’m sorry your life was stolen from you.
I’m sorry that law enforcement of our country murdered you.
I’m sorry your family had to say goodbye to you too soon.
I’m sorry that you cried out for help and no one helped you.
I’m sorry Mr. Floyd that 46 was your old age.
I’m sorry that your last moments alive were so brutal that they are now replayed on the world’s stage.
I’m sorry that your life ended face down in the street,
I’m sorry that they ignored you when you begged, please, I can’t breathe.
I’m sorry that you had to be all alone and have no one to hold your hand as you were taken away from this life.
I’m sorry that when you cried out for your mom,
she couldn’t be by your side.
Im sorry you had to be alone and scared.
I’m sorry you ever had to beg another man for one single breath of air.
Mr. Floyd, if ever once in your life, you felt like you weren’t worth a dime,
Just know that your name has now been spoken by millions, millions of times.
I’m sorry for every second of each minute that you struggled to stay alive.
I’m sorry you ever had to beg another human for your life while bystanders recorded the evidence footage of your unfolding homicide.
I’m sorry that you won’t get to see what will be forever changed by your brutal death.
And I’m sorry that you won’t get to see the day that skin color will no longer determine whether you get your next breath.
I’m sorry that you are a casualty of this unending war in yet another horrific battle.
And I’m sorry that your name, Mr. George Floyd, is now on the list with others that should still be alive because black lives matter.

    Life lately

    Lately Life's been so bleak
    All black,with no silver streak
It's the year of the pandemic
The year of protests, locusts and what not
And if that wasn't enough, goddamn it's hot
I can feel my brain melting away alongwith
the will to live, or do anything productive
Filled is my mind, with thoughts all self destructive
Barely holding on in this black ocean
On a raft called friendship, & through suppressing emotion
Can't let a tear fall down, can't tell anyone i am weak
Because the situation around, is already so bleak
What does my grief matter, when people die for a couple dollars
Deaths all around, people wearing fear like collars
A step towards the future, and a bit of hope
Or a ceiling fan, and a rope
The choice is not an easy one to make
Because more than my own life is at stake
The smiles of my family and friends
The people who stood up with me on all my life bends
There are Some people i can't let down
And that's why, i am holding on.. Not ready to drown
Life maybe all black and bleak
No matter how tiny, But theres always a silver streak..
Just look closely and you will find it..

How long should we suffer hate
How long should we be castrated
How long should we be treated with impunity
    Denied of our place
& denied of our forefathers' sweat
    Lest we own a right to the amendments too;
For the struggles of our past

    Let’s stand together

When people of a particular race are being subjected to discrimination and hate and the rest of us are going to stay quiet just because we don’t belong to that race or are not being subjected to that kind of hate
Is such an act of cowardice.
    Let’s stand up for Humanity
    Let’s stand up for Hope
    Let’s stand up for Peace
    Let’s stand up for Love
We are all humans different in our appearances but similar in our nature.
    No one is superior,
    No one is inferior.

    Let’s admire and respect
    The differences in our
    Culture,cast and creed.

    Long be this time,
    An era of systemic racism,
Plagued with grief, loss & hate
Inculpable babies lost to this sickness
Fathers lost to this outrageous obliteration
    Mothers rape and abused
    Young lad mutilated as game

    Life is not fair
    By: Layla Nikkel
Inspired by the George Floyd rioting

    People fighting and rioting
    Gunshots scattered through air
This is not a tranquil time
But life is not that fair

    Many citizens enduring
    Often, we’d only stare
    So much for peaceful protesting
    But this life isn’t fair

Tear gas bombs cloud our saddened eyes
    Wendy’s up in a flare
Smoke and ashes fills the dark sky
    Because life isn’t fair

    Black lives matter says everyone
    Everyone seems to care
The shedding of blood, the splatter
Proof that life is not fair

    Calm protesting turns to riots
    Something’s never repair
    But people unarmed are injured
    Because life isn’t fair

We should put down all our weapons
    We try to stop despair
We will all stand strong together
To make this life more fair

Liver Failure And A Moment of Silence

What if I told you that America is like a liver?

    We detoxify, digest, decompose, metabolize.

The day that the system failed George Floyd for the last time, he became a cord that gathered courage to advance an old stagnant fight.

Voices of fighters that had been pushed to the desert, thrived.

At the curb near George Floyd where he had pleaded the deepest cry any being can ever make, a portal tore open.

The kind of portal that carries blood to the liver, but also the kind of portal that reawakens cries on narrow streets.

A day after George Floyd, many people became damaged red blood cells and streamed into the liver, impairing the seat of the darkest emotions.

Failure to the liver: halt the detoxification, digestion, decomposition and the metabolism that is racism, greed, ignorance, submission and complacency.

My sister and I went to one of George Floyd's portals.

On our way home, she asked me:

Have you ever watched a portal vein fall with grief over an audience and become an awning?

I told her yes because I have seen fighters kneel in a moment of silence for every Black folk murdered by a system that was built on their backs.

    The Black Spot

The tip of the pen was few inches away from the white sheet of paper. Mind being clung to the blankness of the sheet was trying hard to leave its footprints on it with the black ink of the pen. Suddenly, the ink rushed like air to the tip and dropped itself on the white sheet creating a spot. BLACK! The first print on the white sheet, a lighting bulb for my mind to begin its journey. And I wrote the first sentence- "Colour matters!"
