    SUDDEN
    GENERATION

¹AN ERA WIDE UP OPENED FOR NEW CHAPTERS,
²AS PEOPLE HAVE NOW GROWN IN HUGE NUMBERS.
³AWAITS A GENERATION WAS YET TO BE WRITTEN,
⁴WHERE MINDSET OF THE YOUTH ARE BLINDED AND HIDDEN.

    ⁵VIOLENCE IS WHAT THEY OPPOSE,
⁶HOW HYPOCRITE THERE THEY AND CHOSE,
⁷THEM WHOM SUPPORTS PROTESTS AND RALLY,
    ⁸SEE THE IRONY, REALLY?

⁹A LONG LIFE SACRED GIFT OF A FAMILY WAS YET TO BROKE
CLAIMED WAS SUPPOSED TO FIX, YET BECAME A JOKE.

¹⁰WAS A SACRED GIFT FROM HEAVEN ABOVE,
¹¹MALE AND FEMALE ARE OUGHT WHOM TO LOVE,
¹²A PLAN TO DESTROY THIS BY SUPPORTS OF,
¹³SAME GENDER MARRIAGE TO BE NORMALIZED OF.

¹⁴INTERCOURSE DESIGNED FOR ONLY THE MARRIED COUPLE,
¹⁵TO AVOID ABORTION AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE.
¹⁶WAS NORMALIZED FOR TODAY'S ERA FOR ONES BODY IS ONES RULE,
¹⁷FOR A SUDDEN PREGNANCY IS EASE TO ABORT, ¹⁸WHAT A FOOL.

¹⁹SACRED GIFT IS A MARRIAGE FOR A COUPLE TO LIVE,
²⁰TO BREAK AND SATISFY THEIR OPINIONS AND ACHIEVE,
²¹DIVORCE IS WHAT CLAIMS THE ANSWER FOR A FIGHT
²²WAS A SHADOW NOW ²³FOR A BROKEN FAMILY, ²⁴YET FOR THEM WAS RIGHT.

²⁵OH HOW SUDDEN IT IS THIS ERA I WAS BORN,
²⁶BLESSED TO LIVE BUT A CURSE-LIVED THORN.
²⁷HIDDEN BEHIND THE MINDS OF THE YOUTH IS YET TO COME
²⁸THE CHANGE THEY COMMIT WAS A DANGER TO SUM.

    Dear smartphone

    Stay away from me,
I beg you to set me free,
I know in negative times you have spread a lot of positivity,
But right now my mind is in your captivity,
I respect you for the times you have not let me feel so alone,
But GOD damn! my routine is decided by my phone,
I have a whole thing waiting for me,
But In you I try to find all happiness and glee,
I even know I am making you my addiction,
I have given so much myself to u that I don't see other option,
Though now I gonna make this easier for we two,
Spending time with you unnecessarily will be a big no,
As I am unable to keep myself away from you,
I ask u to do separate urself from me,
    Will you?

    To all the teenagers

    Best friends turn into strangers
    Lolipops turn into cigarettes
    Innocent ones become sluts
Homework, that shit goes in the trash

    Soda becomes vodka
    Kisses turn into sex

Do you remember when getting high meant swinging on a playground?
When protection meant wearing a helmet?
When the worst thing you could get from boys and girls was cooties?

When you were sitting on your dad's shoulders and it was the highest place on earth?
And when your mother was a hero?

When your worst enemies were your siblings?
When race issues were only about who ran the fastest?
When the only drug you knew was Panadol?
When wearing a skirt didn't make you a slut?
When goodbyes only meant until tomorrow?

We always said we wanted to grow up
    What were we thinking?

    They'll label me a broken face ,
Smile so plastic might just break .
Lips brick red ya know ,
Hourglass figure got all that .
    High top shoes ,
    Long shiny cuffs .
But all I'll be ever be in my world ,
    Is a broken face .

    Cancel Cultured Cyberbully

There is something wrong with a culture
    where the kids are suicidal,
all the way down to the elementary
And even preschools seem to have it.....
Guess we got so busy working
We forgot to teach our kids to care.
How to love, how to laugh
How to become and be a true friend.
So they stay at home alone
And don't want to do nothing!
Just play on phones and socially gossip.
    Cyber bullies beat another round
Dancing to yet another tiktok challenge,
    or gamers alone, levelling up…..
With their play station, or xbox…..
Our generation had its Nintendo too.
All meant to keep us docile and distracted.
So we isolate first, then medicate too
    Then turn around surprising ourselves
By asking the world, how our kids grew up
    Feeling so damn entitled,
without love, knowing only division and hate
Shooting up each other in schools
    and rioting in the streets
Cancelling entire cultures out in one
Emotionally charged tirade, one fell swoop.
Maybe it's their parents or society's fault?
Cause they've been shown no other way
How To live and how to love,
    They have become so intolerant
    of the whole establishment.
that Somehow, despite being dummed down they still know that its to blame.
Then we fight them and fight each other
Not helping at all, just exhibiting more.
More of the same, hate and intolerance
defensive growing into an angering swell
Guess that's where they learned It,
This hatred, so dark, Just like a prison cell…..
    damn, it was us afterall
    What else could be expected?
Their savage reaction to all they came from
    Was a simple mirrored reflection....
they was just imitating us, this is our fault
    .....our hate…..our mistaken road taken
Cancelled out by what we wasted our life on
killed ourselves over trying to create
A better life, guess we really new nothing
Since our own kids have learned such hatred.

"I'm sad," she said, the tears falling down her face. I tried to console her but, I couldn't help but think
    'We're all sad.'

    Generations.

Finally here we go, as per my research from different blogs, sites and authors. The generations - The Silent generation, Baby boomers (1940-59), Gen X(1960-79), Gen Y said to be millennials (1980-94) some studies say that it extends upto 1999. According to Forbes (2015) after millennials - Gen Z(1995-2010) said to be Xennials. Also some studies shows that after 1997 are said to be gen z. The special characteristics about mid 90's(94 to 96) - they have both the knowledge of gen Y(millennials) as well as Gen Z. Millennials(Gen Y) seeks for truth, don't like to be scheduled and they are said to be fun first and hard work next. According to Mark McCrindle (Australian studies) - Gen Z are likely to live Upto the age of 80. "The generation Alpha(2015-TBD)" is said to be the next generation of Gen Z.

    Too Young

When I say what I think
or express the way I feel,
    all I ever get is:

    "You're not old enough."

    I step back,
    take a breath,
    calm down
    because I've been taught
that a woman can't get angry if
she wants to be taken seriously.

    Not old enough for what?
    I think to myself.

Not old enough to use my brain?

    You're silencing us,
    though maybe unknowingly,
    but it's all the same,
    can't you hear us?

    Because we're speaking,
    but maybe you know this
    and you're just ignoring us.

Are we not worthy of your attention because
we haven't lived as long as you?

    It's quite funny,
    actually,
to be silenced by the same people
    that call me lazy.

    Well...

    It's not funny.
    Not really.
But I have to laugh because...

    Women and anger,
    remember?
    Not compatible.

"You're not old enough to talk about politics. You have no life experience," says a middle class white man who isn't able to come up with a single counter argument to what I've just told him.

Sir, I don't mean to he rude,
but since you won't let me be heard,
I'd like to ask you something.

What adversity have you had to overcome?

    Now,
    before you start getting angry,
    which I guess is
    totally acceptable in your case,
    understand I'm not ignoring
    your struggles and hardships.

    The thing is
    that any issue
    you've had to deal with,
any barrier you've ever had to face,
has nothing to do with the way
    that you were born.

    You've never been held back
by your skin color or your sexuality,
by your gender or your appearance.

    Do you disagree?

    Please, enlighten me.
    Unlike you I will
    listen.

    Listen.

    I will listen because
    minorities must listen
    if they want to survive.

"You're not old enough to be sure about your sexuality," says a woman to her twelve-year-old son, all while sticking pink headbands on her three month old daughter's bald head and planning how she'll marry their neighbor's son one day.

    Messed up?
    I definitely think so.

Does she know she's hurting her child?
What she's basically saying is that
her son isn't old enough to be himself.

    Just because
    he doesn't fit in with
    what society says is
    normal.

    Normal?

    What is normal?

Are you normal if you don't listen to us?

    I doubt it.

    But you know what?
    All of these people,
    every single one of them
    is actually right.

    I'm not old enough.

I'm not old enough to be worried about my drink being spiked if I take my eyes of it for one second.

I'm not old enough to be thinking about being attacked and raped while walking home in the dark.

I'm not old enough to be terrified that one of my friends will be stabbed or shot on their way home from school.

I'm not old enough to be told that the reason I was harassed was because my skirt was too short and the guy just "couldn't control himself."

    I'm not old enough.

    But I won't be silenced.

They call us the tech generation for a reason.
    We are informed.
    We are educated.

I was born into a world that screams for me to change it.
    I will not conform.
    I will not be silenced.

    Gen Z

I've been trying to sedate my mind,
To have no more anxiety, no fears,
No pain and no more tears.

What has this world done to me.
Locked me in these four walls like a refugee.
Seeking refuge from our generation's ignorance,
Where everything exists in a state of dissonance.

    Vaunt about our body counts,
Both, in bed and and the battle grounds.
Love doesn't mean anything to us no more,
Everyone leaves our heart or body sore.
Cheats who swindle away your soul,
Abuse you like a drug and throw your body down the hole.

One's most sacred possession is their mind,
Yet many feel it impossible to find.
    Lost in this Pandemonium,
We are in desperate need of a Sanctorium.
