The winter and the falling snow witnessed
The bloodshed, the cries of those devoured alive
The beasts failed infront of those monsters wild

The scars burned in the blanket of crystal ice
The snow a red saree so wide
The chants of "convert, run or die"
Like some wide stretch of river in front and on the other a valley high

The cries, the shouts, the screams
Muffled under the wintry doom
The fear, the terror, the panic
The holocaust of kashmiri pandit

The ignorance, the helplessness, the weak
Freedom from the vulnerable conditions they seek

Their voice silenced, caged never heard right
All in vain their fight
The escape seemed impossible, the dead might
The living were savaged whole and alive

The culprit roamed free, the innocent in prison
Where had been at that time our constitution
Freedom & secularism became mere fantasies
The zenith passed in the practical authority

"Justice delayed is justice denied"
But here the justice was simply thought as a joke before it came right
Now they scream of justice
Which is given after being denied......

All Lives Matter

We are divided by our races,
And honestly I hate it.
It feels like all the love in the world has faded.
We can't see the hurt on each other's faces.
Why should I love you less cause the color of your skin?
Why would I put someone above me because of a darker or lighter pigment?
All lives matter.
Everyone's heart is beaten and battered.
Yeah, we all goin through somethin,
We all been shattered.
We're all brothers and sisters through the blood of Christ.
Whether you're black, white or blue,
You got a lot a things you're going through.
So instead of the separating and spreading of hate,
Why don't we spread the love and find someone to save?
The burning of buildings,
The beating of children,
The hurting of innocence,
Man it's all ridiculous.
The police brutality,
Rioting like it's something you do righteously,
The fighting so tirelessly.
All lives matter, not just you or me.

busy surviving
we have lost the life
the feelings
and the awareness
courage to raise voice
against the power and atrocity
the ill system is regressive
killing progressive thoughts
ruining the Institutions
playing with sentiments
as they are afraid
that someday someone will
point it out that King is naked
same as in that old story
and the illusion will be over
the bubble will burst with impact
and People will rise
understanding their rights
the state will put an obligation
in the name of religion and Ideology
suppressing free thoughts
killing equality
and incentives for blind believers
who is one for himself
who is exclusive
filled with filthy thoughts
they will get the reward of their loyalty
the public hanging will be organized
in the name of sedition and conspiracy
free radicals will be hanged
the crowd will go crazy
and decades later
when the truth will slap in their face
they will erect a statue
and put the name
with remaining thoughts
and will go to their homes
to repeat the same cycle again,

Niqab/Naqab - veil or face cover
Niqabi/Naqabi- one who wears a veil over the face.
Fatwa - religious ruling.

There's a general notion about veiled women in this country. And that is they are dumb and easily led by male patriarchs of their homes. That they are oppressed and forced to cover themselves. While that may be true for 1% of the population (keyword: 'maybe'), most of us wear it to please Allaah SWT and then our own selves. Nobody else has any say.

I know I can't change people's mindsets but I for one, can't stand to be called dumb and illiterate. So wrote this to clear the air. Thank you very much! ��

Behind the Veil

I assure you, my Niqab does not render me dumb.
And to such incredulous allusions, I refuse to succumb!

They think me primitive, how pedantic of them!
I keep my brains covered and my sentiments at hem.

It is hard for them to believe that I'm a rational thinker,
They fear I'd spout fatwas, or become a radical preacher.

Their unwelcoming glares force me to think less of myself,
In a crowd of prodigious behemoths, I feel like a tiny, tottering elf.

Their dubious looks leave my confidence in tatters,
I halt in my speeches, unsure, whether what I say really matters.

Is it wrong to dream of regard, from this biased world?
To let my thoughts run free and for my wings to unfold?

While I'm an individual, a human being without any allegiance,
I'm also a servant of my Lord, pledged to only His obedience.

And deep beneath my layers of black, I love, live, breathe, see and think,
I imagine, opine, act and hope to fuel a worthy cause with my pen and ink.

My sister also wears the veil but she studies in a women's college so people don't understand the need. However, there are male employees and teachers there too so she doesn't remove it. Some 'women' teachers give her a hard time because of that.

शीर्षक कुछ अटपटा सा लग रहा है न, पर आजकल की परिस्थितियों में बिल्कुल सटीक लगता है।
क्योंकि देश में आजकल सिर्फ दो ही विचाधाराएँ देखने को मिल रही है...सत्ताधारी समर्थक या विरोधी।।
स्वस्थ लोकतंत्र के लिए दोनों विचारधाराएं होना जरूरी है, पर जब एक विचारधारा दूसरे पर हावी होने लग जाये तो शायद खतरे की घण्टी लगती है।।
लोकतंत्र की खासियत ही यही है कि यह जनता का जनता के लिए जनता द्वारा शासन है,
और लोकतंत्र में किसी को वोट देना एक स्वतंत्र प्रक्रिया है, जनता किसको और क्यों वोट दे रही है ये उसका निजी मत है और ये उसके स्वविवेक पर आधारित है!!
जो भी सत्ताधारी दल चुनावो से पहले की गई घोषणाओं को पूरा नही कर पाता या जनता की उम्मीदों पर खरा नही उतरता तो जनता उसको सत्ता बेदखल कर देती है और करती आई भी है चाहे वो कितना भी कद्दावर नेता क्यों न हो!!
पर वर्तमान में परिदृश्य कुछ अलग सा प्रतीत होता है,
अगर आप कुछ भक्त टाइप लोगो से अलग विचारधारा रखते है, आप मुद्दों और विकास के आधार पर वोट देने की वकालत करते है, या फिर आप धर्म या जाति की राजनीति का विरोध करते है, तो आपको देशद्रोही होने का तमगा मिल सकता है या आप खुद के समाज के लोगो की नज़रों में गिर सकते है और ये सब इसलिए क्योंकि आपकी और उनकी विचारधारा अलग अलग है!!
एक मजबूत लोकतंत्र के लिए मजबूत पक्ष के साथ साथ मजबूत विपक्ष की भी आवश्यकता है जो जनता के मुद्दों को बुलंदी के साथ उठा सके, और सत्ता में पक्ष और विपक्ष में बैठना निरन्तर और स्वभाविक प्रक्रिया है
पर जब तुच्छ मानसिकता वाले लोग जो बेदखल हुई दल के समर्थक है कोसना शुरू कर देते है, फब्तियां कसते है, और नफरत की राजनीति फैलाना शुरू कर देते हैं,
उन लोगो को ये सब छोड़ के इस बात पर ध्यान देना चाहिए कि..आप क्यों हारे?? क्या कमी रह गयी?? और उन कमियों को कैसे दूर किया जाए??
समाज को बांट कर नफरत की राजनीति करना बन्द कीजिये, राजनीति में फंसकर आपसी भाईचारे को बर्बाद नही करे,
जिम्मेदार नागरिक बनकर स्वस्थ लोकतंत्र का हिस्सा बनें!!

They wished to sail the world,
Dance through their paths,
Frame out their captures,
Sing their voice atop,
Climb their fears,

Dive into their deep dreams,

And the hearts which wept daily..
