It reduces our fresh air supply
We make oil explorations without a care
The ground laughs
It bleeds oil into our clean waters
We forever build polluting factories

It chokes our very children to death

Let there be bang
There was a big bang and there will be a bang,
We'll just be another star, who blinked for a second,
For another galaxy, for another alien
We'll all be gone just like the dinosaur,
Just like a few extinct species.
At Least those dinosaur's din't destroy,
We cruelly killed, destroyed, farmed animals,
War, pollution, deforestation.
We don't deserve this planet,
Let there be bang, let there be chaos,
Let's all begone for the nature to flourish.

It was inspired by a line by Roger Waters, "You shout and no one seems to hear."
This line reminded me of the Draft Environmental Impact Assessment which was proposed in March 2020. It dilutes the voices of the people who may get adversely affected by developmental projects by scrapping public hearings.
An Environmental Impact Assessment ( EIA ) is basically a process of evaluating environmental impacts of a proposed project. Under the Draft EIA 2020, if there is local resistance to polluting industries, their voices will not matter. The impacts such industries can have one the people are:
1. Nearby water bodies get polluted and people will lose access to clean drinking water
2. If the soil is polluted, the crops farmers sow won't grow.
3. Some pollutants can seriously affect the human health in the area, etc

All the things that I have lost

When all I see are forests razed,
Gas leaks galore, the mangles bodies of innocents
sprawled on blood-red fields.
And everybody says- these things happen,
move on! But
you're shouting and no one seems to hear
my voice matters (the words ringing in your ear)
It ruins forests, it ruins lives,
All those gems lost in the storm which moves nearer, nearer
it's here now.

Read MoreWrote this because I'm pissed at the massive deforestation happening in India, with the government approving unnecessary projects which cause MASSIVE deforestation and habitat loss, and irreparable damage to local communities. Also, these projects aren't even necessary. There are alternatives to them which don't destroy our world, and ways in which the damage can be minimised, and that's not even happening.

Environmental Impact Assessment ( EIA ) is a process of evaluating environmental impacts of a proposed project taking into account inter-related socio-economic, cultural and human-health impacts. Draft EIA 2020 by Government of India proposes to legitimize actions currently listed as violations, dilutes rules by expanding list of projects exempted from public consultation & does not prescribe a robust post environment clearance monitoring system. Besides giving a lot of discretionary powers to govt authorities, Draft EIA 2020 is heavily loaded in favour of industries allowing polluting industries to pollute more and causing immense harm to nature. Under the new draft EIA, industries set to benefit from no public consulting are chemical fertilizers, pesticides, petroleum product plants & many more. If there is local resistance to these polluting industries, their voices will not matter. Removing public consultation spells disaster as it is a must for any environment clearance process.
The government has called for objections. Please share this petition link widely urging people in your networks to sign. All our local environment and forest battles will fall flat if the EIA is manipulated. We all have to work together to stop this Draft from becoming a Notification.

Standing tall with its roots in depth
With all the ground covered with dry leaves
The tree accumulated the beauty
Of the life that was below and above
Around it flourished the bushes and weeds
With fragnant flowers and piercing thornes
The bushes and weeds sustained
The voice of crickets and pacing of rabbits
The tree sustained all non-judgmentally
Standing tall admist the sun, rain and storm
Until the day, a wild minded animal came
And brought the tree to ground and
Brought it to pieces and sold it
