The human mind. The Showman.
Irony, it creates, by inciting a sense of normal among unique lives.
Envy, it spawns, by getting us to compare.
It tricks you into dogma through distraction of being self-made.
Its flair for theatrics lies at the moment of impulse as well as overconfidence.
Birth, education, work, marriage, death - hardly an exciting lineup of acts, wouldn't you say?
But tell me truly - does the mind truly know better?
Who arrives first? Your Consciousness or The Showman?
Who tricks the other?
Nothing's right, nothing's wrong. Who believes this more?
Or worse yet, are they in cahoots?
Are there actually two performers?
Are they competing for your benefit?
Or are they taking turns to play the Devil's Advocate?
Come what may, your actions & consequences are the audience.
But remember, you bought tickets to this show.
If you want your time's worth,
YOU must be The Showman.
