    the distant
    horizonal abysmal
sky is bright with festive fervor-
    I reckon this festivity rise

    from the millions burning
simple prayer of the poor folk-
    the horizonal city tonight
beckons me- offering me wild pacts

in the stiff swoon of her eyes,
and swallows the blue amorous sprig
    of my small, tender sorrow
    when I reach nearby-

    she swallows me
    full- and keeps mum-
    I can never forgive
    this happiness- this city-

    her happiness- she: who addresses
    me by name- her poison:
    a warm incandescence, she:
    mad haven.

    - being in belly.

    Lights

    Those beautiful city lights.
Resembling like twinkling stars from a distance.
The lights that make you feel at peace.
The great view of moving little colorful dots.

    His Yellow

Gazing at the 2:00AM city lights, his mind wandered .
The streets with its bright yellow lights were a perfect metaphor to his mind when his mind is captivated by you..
The hectic work day might have just ended in this wee hour but something about this night kept him doing his weird passion filled dance moves..
Maybe your thoughts made him blinded that he's sleep deprived..
The night seemed perfect to just come and meet you and go out on a ride in this chill climate with your arms all wrapped around him..
Maybe it's the wallpaper on his phone or the weather or maybe something unknown..
Either way he was all yellow and thats what he always wanted.to be all yellow!

    Love left unsaid
It lingers in the air instead
    Needlessly begging to be heard
    Like a Sunday morning songbird

When you've done the twist and turns
Of labels and boxing the passion that burns
All that matters is that he see's you when he falls asleep
But he keeps waking up in twisted sheets

    Candlelight versions of themselves
Speaking words about things they may never be
Twirling smoke and spinning minds are free
And for a moment they contain the lights of cities

Tounge-twisted body language is spinning her
But a dress ain't right for her caliber
She sits and cries and writes and spites
In the middle caught between drawn out fights
    She takes flight
    All around she sees
    Sights and stories
    Her head starts pouring
A site she's trained to hide away
Mistaken to think she's not on the brink
    Of describing the universe
With one drop of her ink

He's longing for her unique company
But everytime they get too close to see
The songbird chokes on pure agony and stumbles on it's words
Maybe this is how it's supposed to be

Get back up it's not over now
    Feelings left on the prowl
Calmed only by a warm embrace
Trading tears and telling uspoken stories face to face

Tounge-twisted body language is spinning her
But a dress ain't right for her caliber
She sits and cries and writes and spites
In the middle caught between drawn out fights
    She takes flight
    All around she sees
    Sights and stories
    Her head starts pouring
A site she's trained to hide away
Mistaken to think she's not on the brink
    Of describing the universe
With one drop of her ink

They both seek a mirror to show the other's worth
To confidently explain why they're on this earth
    The consequences of your birth
    Their meeting was not mistaken
The energy that guides rode the wind whipped night
    Unknowingly meeting
    It was no apparent occasion
    Both want what is right
    A rare sight
    A collision of light
A supernova at the shady grove is far too bright
To see a pre-planned rhyme or reason
So they flow infinitely with the seasons

    Rail ki patri pe chale,
    Kuch sawalo ke talash mein.
    Koi khud ki,
Toh koi sapno ki talash mein.
    Har ek musafir yaha,
    Zindagi talash ta hai.

Har chehra ek Kahani batata hai,
    Kuch khayaal aur
    Kuch shikayate chupata hai.
    Har koi iss bheed mein,

    city lights burning bright
    the candles losing the battle
    of life of light
the candles do not burn bright
    the flaws in the stars
    taking turns for revenge
    the fate with curly hair
    tangled in it self
    what a pitiful sight
    the sky without moonlight
    dark streets dark corners
    and even darker secrets
    the ecstasy of sleep
    is far far away
    candles burning dimly
the dim light of burning soul
    "things fall apart
    the centre can not hold."

    Ek chiraiya

Ek chiraiya ghonsle ko chhod udd udd jaaye
Aur ye soche kaash aisa ho kadam mud jaaye

Ik chiraiya ghonsle ko chhod ud ud jaaye
Aur ye soche kaash aisa ho kadam mud jaaye

Tinka tinka kar batora aur banaaya ghar
Par samay ki barishon ne kar diya beghar
Kar diya beghar... kar diya begharr...

    O musafir dheer dhar
    Aayega sooraj idhar
    Kaahe bhaage... kaahe bhaage...
    Door jitna jaayega
    Laut phir naa paayega
    Kaahe bhaage... kaahe bhaage...

Ek charraiya ko paraaya des kaise bhaaye
Gaaon ka peepal puraana yaad usko aaye
Tinka tinka kar batora aur banaaya gharr
Par samay ki barishon ne kar diya begharr
Kar diya beghar... kar diya begharr...

    Yeh jo asuan ki ladi
    Beh rahi hai har ghadi
    Tere aage... tere aage...
    Yaad rakh har mod par
    Ek nayi subah khadi
    Kaahe bhage... kaahe bhaage...

Ik chiraiya aansuon se lad jhagad so jaaye
Raah pathreeli hai lekin hausla na jaaye
Tinka tinka kar batora aur banaaya gharr

    Eventide

    The shiny evening sky
    Was fading in hues.
    Citylights turning on and off.
Noisy sounds of busy cars could be heard.

    To see a dream.

    The Citizens Of Wonderland

    The shimmers of dusk
    conceal our secrets.
    Legacy of our past dance
on the trampoline of street lights.
I hear whispers of rejoice from
    gloomy telephone booth.
The octaves of your voice keep
    diverting from reality.
    Reverie being our playground.
Swing sets of time keep saying our dreams.
The world breeds salvation from sunburst.
While we drift away in hallucinations
    of yearning citylights.
Midnight is the forums on which
    we thrive.

    Karaoke

How can I think out of the other night, how can I express the feel of a cold wind hitting through the grill inside my gallery, that starry night sky, dim moonlight, partially covered clouds. Distant window light from a faraway building. That's all an excuse that you are far away from me. That's my favourite place in home - corner balcony wall, that lovely view of the glowing trees. Colony street covered by yellow lights. Even those footpath tiles looking so beautiful after some rain. I can analyse the lyrics of Karaoke "Every breath you take" in the background. Ahh I am feeling cold and adjusting myself on a bin bag so that blanket covers my leg. I'm on endless thoughts about us, moving to my own world like a lone passenger. I know it's not a feel of karaoke bar or club. But more beautiful than that, something like deep dive into the tape of my life.

    Sunset and Citylights

The newspaper pressed in the handle of the door was still waiting to be picked up. Sunday issue was familiar with waiting for long hours but this was not any usual Sunday. The aroma of the coffee maker permeated in the kitchen.
    ............
There was a curious silence in the house. A mix of fear and excitement was diffusing in the air.
    ............
Adira pulled her hair back, switched off the stove and took out some vegetables and bread for the sandwiches. She called her daughter Kirat to check out all the items from the exhaustive list of things they had packed.

"Mom, trust me, everything will be fine."
"I still don't think its a good idea."Her hesitation was phasing in and out, ever since she took that decision.
    "I said trust me."
    "I do."
    ............
Together, they pushed in the huge bag inside the car trunk.

"Seriously Mom, we are not going on a war."Kirat could see the unease in her mother's eyes, growing every moment.
"I want to be sure that we are safe there."
    ...............
The village was located on the outskirts of the city. Kirat was fascinated by the scenery created, paddy fields and the horizon coloured in yellow hues.
Adira knows, it has been a long time since she took her daughter out for a trip. For a moment she forgot about the destination and became contended that they decided to come here.
    ...............
"I think we have reached, I will ask someone about their house."The long-awaited moment has come and Adira knew that. There was no running back now though she wanted that.

    They found the house.
A non-cemented one, it was barely standing at the place. Green algae have moulded at the base with water draining out from a pipeline, on the roof.
After exchanging a nod with her daughter, Adira knocked at the door.
A woman, wearing a cotton nightgown, opened it.

"Hi, I'm Adira, we had a talk on call yesterday. She is Kirat."

"Yes...of course, I remember. She has grown up exceptionally since I last saw her, it has been a long time."Her eyes were glistening with tears. She caressed Kirat's cheeks while holding her shoulders with the other hand.

"Seventeen years, it has been seventeen years," Kirat said with a steady voice. All her overwhelmed emotions were holding up, calm and collected.

    "Please come inside, we..."

"Why did you leave?"A question whose answer Kirat knew deep inside her but she wanted to hear it verbally. So that her heart could accept the truth.

"We couldn't afford you. My husband was an alcoholic. I didn't want you to suffer along with me and I'm glad I did that, you are living a way better life than I ever could have given you. Please come inside."

"Mom, it is getting late, I think we should go now".

"No...no, at least meet your father. He must be here at any moment now. You both should come inside."

"I didn't come here because you've the same blood as mine. I came here for this answer. I wanted to hear it from you, in person. We should leave now, Mom."

Kirat started walking towards the car, she felt like she was walking in cosmic space, feeling much lighter.

"Won't you stop her to tell her about your regrets, to hear the word Mom from her, "Adira asked, out of curiosity, out of fear.

    "Would she agree with me?"
They shared a smile. Two mothers of the same child.

Adira walked briskly to match the steps of her daughter.
    ..............
The mother and daughter, proud of each other, needed this cathartic release.

Leaving behind the sunset of the green fields, they were approaching their home. Citylights were calling them.

    City Lights

I Was Dropping Down My Way With The Fire Bubbles Over My Head And Seeing The Setting Sun Of The Plain,
And The Darkness Was Covering All My Soul The Same The Darkness Is Covering The City,
Just The Second City Gots It's Light, The Whiteness All Over The Wide Passage,
But Remaining, What About My Soul !?
Nothing Which Could Help Me Out Of This Pale Night So Now What I'm Actually Left With Again? Nothing!?
So Again I Got Ashes All Over My Head,
    Because No Memory Easily Fades
The Same The Running Road Don't Turn Easily The Emptiness.
Ashes Over My Head Again And Still I Can Hear The City Lights, City Lights....
