CHAI CHAPTERS FROM MY LIFE
Something from the pages of the torn memories, something so relevant even today.
Where I come from, Saah (chai) is the reason for every occasion; Where I come from, folks around the globe call it the Tea Capital of the World.!
For us tea has been an integral part of our lives, just like my body yearns for fresh oxygen, or my mind craves for serenity.
My love for tea spans from red tea in a bowl made of bell metal with a piece of jaggery in my hand, the infamous 'seleka saah' introduced in my childhood, to the hanpicked organic exports of Assam Tea Company, and my flavoured ceylonese tea, to my odd-timed Honey Ginger Lemon at Chaayos, my cup of Nagori chai at 3 am in the heart of Mumbai, to my late night tea with lemon grass and tulsi plucked from my terrace garden in Mumbai.
Chai is not just an emotion; it's a lifestyle that has been infused in me with a gradual liking to the beverage, and the beautifully knitted memories with every concoction of love, nature, dreams, hopeless romanticism in me and the stories woven over smiles and eye-locks, of entrepreneurial discussions to my warmest emotional connects;
Chai is a familiar warmth, something that's deeply personal and enlightening to my soul.
Someday, in the middle of a tea garden, I would love my freshly made cup of tea, overlooking the sunset from across my bungalow: a feeling that keeps me inspiring through my journey with Tea.
Baarish ki soundhi mehek,

वो कहते सुना आज International चाय डे है..
लिख दो कुछ चाय की प्याली पर-
तो गौर फरमाएं-
इस बदलते ज़माने में भी,
हमने वो पुराना सा इश्क़ निभाया है...
Cafe coffee day और Starbucks के ज़माने में भी,
हमने वो टपरी वाली कटिंग का जाम उठाया है...
होंगे बहुत दीवाने cold coffee-ऐ प्याले के,
पर सच्ची मोहब्बत पर तो हमेशा ❤
कड़क मसाले वाली चाय का ही नाम आया है...☕

कहते हैं की
मोहब्बत किया होता हमने अगर
उनसे दूर होने की वजह भी
सिर्फ चाय होती
और हाँ
अपनी मोहब्त भी
थोड़ी अधूरी रह जाती
अगर चाय ना होती तो
हमारी सास कब की पूरी हो जाती ।

They woke up early in the morning and completed all the household works.
Women were preparing everything for the travel while the men went to drop their children into their government schools.
As soon as they returned, they took their wives along with them, and started their travel to do their works, as the hired labours. They reached their destinations after 2-3 hours of walk, and started to work, keeping their physical pains aside.
The sun looked at their hardwork from his start in the east.
I guess he felt pity for them. So he reached to his time of saying goodbye from the west.
They finished the work for the day, collected the meagre daily wages, and then started to their homes; this time, again by walk.
On the way back, they brought their kids along.
As soon as they reached their so-called homes, which are actually tents, they just went out for a glass of chai.
That is where they forgot all their physical pains that they have today, and got ready for tomorrow's journey.

काली सी सुर्ख पत्तियों को देख
हमारी शक्ल कुछ हरी सी हो जाती हैं ,
सुनहरे सैलाब को उफनता देख
फ़िक्र ज़हन में शक्कर सी खो जाती है,
क्योंकि जब जब जिंदगी दम लेकर रुलाती है,
तब तब चाय ही तो हमारी ज़ुबां आकर गुदगुदाती है ।

माटी की गागर में , पोखर से पानी भर लाती मेरी मां ।

कांची भिती में पोचा बुहरन रोज़ लगती मेरी मां ।
सूजी हुई अपनी आंखों का आंचल से पानी छुपाती मेरी मां ।
माघ पूस के जाड़े में , तिलवा तिलकुट बनाती मेरी मां ।
अपना बिछौना हमको देकर खुद रजाई बं जाती मेरी मां ।
दिन वाले खाने में भात संग घी के छौंकी दाल जैसी मेरी मां ।
अपने कुटुम की सेवा कर के ढाल बन जाती मेरी मां ।
बिहान अदित की बाट जोहती मूक गौरैया जैसी मां ।
घर की खुशियों के मौके पर पुआ खीर सेवइयां जैसी मां ।
मुखिया की आड़ में ,घर की बागडोर सहेजती मेरी मां ।
बुजुर्गो के सुवाद के खातिर , खुद तेल परहेजती मेरी मां ।
सावन भादो में खुद भींजकर भूख मिटाती मेरी मां ।
बरखा में खपड़ैल से गिरती बूंदों पर पन्नी चादर जैसी मां ।
और बसंत में फूल लगाती घर खुशबू से मेहकाती मेरी मां ।
यूं फूलों से शहद चुराती , मंडराती तितली जैसी मां ।
