    Wednesday’s

Unraveled and sitting on the bed
    with my hair wild.
Waking up with a smile hoping today you’ll stay awhile.

Boarding up tomorrow’s drag, borrowing the nighttime’s hours and hoping together means ours forever.

    Glistening Light

Suddenly she remembered someone. Someone who wasn't in her life long, but she did care for them. This someone was not on her mind for years and one day memories come flashing back as a reminder. He is now a stranger she can hardly remember. Her still sweet enough to feel bad for him yet again. Only to see a glistening light entirely heartwarming. There are some people she wishes to forget, beings she prays to never ponder about anymore, and souls that haunt her to this day. Yet she was able to forget about one of her scars this confusing heart that was. Time had went on and faded his memory to only a first name and a few blurry memories. She smiled for what had been and frowned at how it all ended. But nevertheless this proved she could forget about who was gone. Every vessel with a heartbeat that she wants to forget about is truly capable of being forgotten. To only exist as flashbacks every few years reminding you of lessons learned. This is exotic and beautiful to not only see but also feel. She can forget about the past and the people within it. And so can you dear reader.

    Spaces in Between

    Fat. Sexy.

    Black. White.

    Pretty. Ugly.

    Nazis. Jews.

    Christian. Muslim.

    Homosexual. Homophobic.

    Man. Woman.

    Where have the times gone

When we used to classify ourselves

    As Homo Sapiens

    Human Beings

    That is who we are.

    Humans.

But why do we build walls

    Create rifts

    That we cannot cross

One that we do not want to cross

    Why do we separate

    One from another?

    Why do religions fight

    When, in definition,

    It means Faith, Belief

    Worship

    Is the difference

    In the way we pray

    Is the difference

    In who we pray to

Really enough to be a reason

    To judge, to be biased

    To hate?

When did being born in another land

    Mean that one is lesser

Or than one should rule above all?

    Reach

    Reach out your hand

    As far as you can

Even as all eyes turn to you

    Dearest

    Be the start of change

    You don't have to worry

    About upsetting the norms

    Why?

    Why not

Greatness is not what you have

Not what you think you deserve

    Greatness is what you give

    What you do for others

That etches a smile on another's face

    And if the world tilts

    And you break the norms

    Darling, keep this in mind

    You started this change

    Darling, remember this

You made all of those people smile

    When did disability ever been

The measure of a person's worth

    Vincent Van Gogh was deaf

    But he created musical masterpieces

    That lasted through time

    Disability

    Never has, and never will

    Determine your worth

    So the next time

    You see someone with disability

    Being put down, shunned

    Put your arms around them

    Smile your brightest smile

    And I'll tell you, dearest

    You made someone else smile

    How could the outside appearance

    Ever describe who you are?

    Does being fat mean

    That you are ugly

    Unworthy of love

    Does being thin

    Immediately categorize you

    As pretty, sexy?

    So

    You

    Yes you

    The person reading this

    If you know someone

    Who is starving themself

    Or if the person

    In front of the screen

    Right now

Yes, darling, I'm talking to you

    If you're somebody

    Who's taking, thinking of taking

    A "diet"

    Then listen

    You are not their doll

You are not their pretty Barbie

You are your own kind of beautiful

    You do not change yourself

    Because of their standards

When did being a Man, a Woman

    A Lesbian, a Gay, a Bisexual

    A Homosexual, a Transgender

    Ever mean

    That one is

    More important than the other?

    Why is it

That a man will burn, burn in flames

If he dares to hurt a woman

But a woman will be lauded

If she stands up against a man

    When did being

    A Lesbian, a Gay, a Bisexual

    A Homosexual, a Transgender

    Ever mean that

    You can disrespect others

Without so much of a thought

    Yet you'll raise pitchforks

    The moment someone

    Speaks bad, acts worse

    Against you

    Respect is earned

    Equality is earned

You cannot expect people to respect you

When you cannot respect them yourself

    How can we have equality

    Balance between Identities

If we do not start the change

    Do not start respect

    Within

    Times have changed

    Thinking has evolved

But there is one thing that remained true

    Even as all became different

    We are Homo Sapiens

    Human Beings

    Wise Men

    We are Humans

    Long before there were

Walls and Rifts and Spaces in Between
