You & I !!!
Seven Sumers ago, when I lived in a different home and you were in a different world, I dreamt about you.
You & I side by side in my dreams.
As time passed, you were a tiny soul, not more than the size of my palm but I could still feel you inside, kicking & moving. Your body against mine.
You & I inside me.
From the peak of monsoons it was almost the end of winters, you had grown sizable. I could see your feet at times, your hands at times, pushing against by belly, making those tiny little impressions & leaving me breathless.
You & I in unison.
Chilly winter mornings were getting warmer & warmer, time was flying. And I could hardly see my feet. My belly was round & bulky. The little you had outgrown my belly & was twisting & turning to come out, from your world to my world.
You & I in collusion.
A mother carries her child in her body for nine months but for me I felt like I was waiting for ninety nine years just to see you, hold you, feel you & love you.
It was time, all the immense pain which was crushing my bones & muscles just melted away, the moment I heard your joyous cries.
It's a Girl !!! Screamed the nurse!
I couldn't stop my tears, tears of ecstasy flowing all the way down.
You & I bonded in love.
Your presence, seemed to be filled with joie de vivre !
You exchanged many hands, some known & some strangers, amongst joys & cheers, but my eyes were always on you, watching you without a flinch.
And then you came straight into my arms...
Carrying you for the very first time, I felt your pink skin, the round face, tiny nose & your petite lips. I ran my fingers through your head full of thick messy hair which was furry and cute.
I rolled the tip of my fingers on your delicate little arms, feeling you & cuddling you. It was all about fondness and affection & in that very moment my heart was filled with benevolence.
You & I in tranquillity.
Holding you and feeding you for the first time filled my heart and mind with sheer bliss. Breastfeeding you was not always easy, but I knew it was worth it. I knew my body was designed to feed you, with all the goodness & nourishment for you.
The joy of breastfeeding you continued for another 10 days to 10 weeks, then it further carried on from 10 weeks to 10 months, it was a season I cherished the most.
You & I in a deep connection.
Days turned into months, and months to years, looking at you today, gives me all my strength.
A strong feeling of affection, warmth, intimacy & care is all I get, just by watching you flair.
The joy of playing with you, hugging you is more than devotion & always full of emotions.
You & I as best friends.
The day you were born I belonged to a different home & you belonged to a different world, today, when I look back, we belong to the same home & you belong to my world, in fact you are my world.
You & I, are meant together in this life & after.

Every morning you come
Like you're my childhood chum.
Shining bright through the window panes,
You throw your light in the darkest lanes.
You make me leave my cosy bed,
I keep on banging the pillow on my head.
I search for tree shades, on a hot summer day
Like those girls at school, who do classical ballet.
You make me sip the last drop of my bottle
Like the dude next door who loves to throttle.
And when the night falls, you go to sleep,
Like while writing my exams, all the mistakes that creep.
Now that I have listened, you hear me too
I am the one who plays hide and seek,
When you are down and bleak.
My light is the one that brings the spring,
When flowers bloom and birds start to sing.
You curse me for my heat, you blame me for all the deplete,
But without my light or heat, you are all incomplete.
You make your food and harvest using my light,
Still, you're mad at, and always impolite.
I bring death and destruction,
But I also bring life and reproduction.
I take care of you'll, as the daughters & sons of my beloved daughter,
But all you do is shove and slaughter.
Day in & day out my daughter bleeds, but for you'll that doesn't matter,
And all you do is further cut & shatter.
The day will come when my light will shun,
Remember that day, you're all done!

the autumn tree behind my house
shall stand naked and bare backed
after letting its dress of
blazing orange-yellow slip
gently to the floor.
And I , for one ,
shall die on a Sunday
maybe with a bullet
to the back of my head
or maybe with a heartbeat
skipped in the middle
of my sleep .
They will fold my clothes
into neat little piles and
pack all of my belongings
into functional brown boxes
on a Monday.
And on a Tuesday
maybe a few tears will greet
the cold,hard stone floor of that
church at the corner of our street
as they prepare to hand me back
to the earth where I came from.
On a Wednesday
the house will know of emptiness
and that black dog
with spotted white ears -
the one outside my office who I used
to feed half of my lunch everyday -
will miss my presence.
(Maybe you will too.
Or maybe you won't)
I will no longer need to lose my sleep
over pending bills and unpaid rents
on a Thurday ,
however, it will definitely be a
little to late to do all those things
that I was about to do on waking up.
On a Friday
there will be new people
moving into the neighnourhood and
as the footsteps of their kids
will weigh over the living room floor ,
the dog will find someone else
to feed him half of their lunch
(maybe you will find someone else
to miss too.Or maybe you won't)
On a Saturday
spring will return
and the tree behind my house
will bloom again in a dress
the soft pink of hope .
And
on a Sunday
all of it will cease to matter .

Where do we go from here ?
I suggest creating a collection
of strange curiosities as we paddle
our way through foreign lands
and desert sands.
We will sift for forgotten stories
within the sunset shadows of
crumbling castles ,
or we could search for the sweet smell
of friendship among strangers
who are unsure of whether they are
running away from or towards something.
We can weave memories
over cafè's hidden in forgotten streets
or relearn counting numbers
from the stars glimmering in the night sky.
My only hope is this ,
that at the dying of the day ,
when your paper plane crumbles
softly to the ground and
all the roads we traveled come to an end ,
you will choose the path
that leads you back home ,
to me.
