I MISS THE SPIRIT GHOSTING MY PAST

I built my walls with the bricks of fear

I heard the loud whispers telling me to leave

Silence was my weapon for survival

Yet, the shadows of the past appeared in silence

    The echoes are louder

    The scars are deeper

But the stars are still calling

    August 10th 3:10 am

    I came outside recently
    So very calm out here
    Not too many vehicles
    That always rev their gears

    At night it's much better
    Without the daytime noise
    Thinking is much easier
And no chatting of a voice

    A random car or truck
    But nothing too loud
    The sound of water
    From sprinklers around

    The street lights bright
As I sit down and write
    Random things arrive
    In my mind here tonight

    Crickets are chirping
    A few here and there
    And the stars are shining
    Far up above the air

    A bit of a chill I feel
    Even with a jacket on
    Much better than humid
I'm glad the heat is gone

    Perhaps I will get lucky
    And see a wild animal
    Take it's picture and then
Write what I want to tell

    I am thinking a drink
    Would suit me just fine
    Soon I will go inside
    To brew some coffee grinds

    The best thing at night
    Is the almost total silence
    Some will not agree but
For me it makes complete sense

    August 6th 6:27 am

    Monday morning
    It has rained recently
    Everything is still wet
    Glistening beautifully

    Birds are chirping
    Crickets as well
    They must be happy
    Now that the rain fell

    The dripping sounds
    I can hear clearly
    The water running down
    The eavestroughs quickly

    The sun about to rise
    To shine its light rays
    The heat coming down
    Will dry the water away

    Autumn is very close
    Leaves change colours
    To a rainbow of sorts
It's the call of winter I'm sure

    September

    Welcome September
    Goodbye August
    We'll all remember
    The memories you brought us

    A new month is here
    And if you dare
    Go out and make memories
And forget about all your worries.

    A lie

She was a lie, rather a perfectly imperfect lie.
She was just a lady who dreamed of being deeply loved by his man.
A stone; waiting to be carved.

She was never let out of the four walls,
    Imprisoned.
    Isolated.
    Doomed.

She never thought how life would be after years,
She was never into anything much.
    Happy in her life;
    A small world.

    She was unknown to the world;
A place, waiting to scorch on her.

She took her first few step outside in the world she had never been to.

Wherever she went, wherever she looked all that could be seen was deception,
    In an amalgam ways.

She was dumbfounded by the way a her heart was broken into smithereens of which she couldn't jot.
    The way she was used,
    The way she was tormented,
    Was beyond her control.

Finding equanimity in the closed dorm of prison,
She continued living without any hope, without any whim.

We women are capable of doing so many things.
    Yet we are suppressed.
When we voice our opinion, we are sushed down.
We are called ill-mannered, reckless and what not.
We talk about equality but equity is lost.

Why is the price we pay for being opinionated so high?
    Who are we living for?
We belong to ourselves and no one else.
    We have our own individuality.
We have our own dreams and abilities.

Cooking, cleaning, household chores aren't gender based.
Its something every gender has to learn and perform.
Women are not the only one supposed to take care of the house, children and what not.
It's a shame that this mentality exists and that people are ignorant when it comes to this issue.

We women aren't just meant to be confined in the four walls of the house.
We are meant to soar high with our intelligence, resilience, perserverance, dreams, capabilities and free will.

Why are we made to feel like the breathe we take is not even ours?
    What is exactly ours?
    We are ours.
    Our body is ours.
    Our individuality is ours.
    Our dreams are ours.
    Our voice is ours.
    Our life is ours.

I smell male patriarchy, suppression and the dirt that one woman throws on another in the air.
What is more beautiful than a woman lifting up another?
Why are we so tangled that we become obstacle of our own progress?
The last thing a woman needs is another woman degrading her.

Men and women lifting eachother up is what a revolutionary world looks like.
A world with voices of every gender heard is a world full of rhythm.
Understanding eachother and their individuality, respecting it and helping eachother in the circle of life is a life indeed.
A life with shared responsibilities, equal opportunities is a life worth living.
A world with equality, respect and equity is a world afterall.

    Hey you...
    Do you realize?
We are already in August now,
Time flies fast than we imagine.

How is your life in August so far?
After what you have been through,
    Good or bad,
I truly hope you are fine.

Today we young next we old, grey and bald
    We begin as an independent.
    As we age,
    Dependence becomes our own.

When young we make tons of friends
Not knowing soon we'd cut them all off
    At one point we're savages
Trying to stand out and being popular
Next all we wish for is peace
    No companion
Just being lonely and by ourselves.

We mistake fun with feeding lust
Focusing mostly on deeds that'll get us wasted
    We shun those who'll help
    Ending up being used
Later on, we have no one to trust.

    Hey,
    Life is tough.
    And challenging,
    Isn't?

We have gone for so many trials,
    Tough one.
    Not only one,
    But always different in form,
    We started to question ourselves,
Our self-confident started to get shakes day by day.

    You cried,
Screamed every time you have the chance,
Depressed and stress never leave your sides,
    Yet you survived,
    aren't you?

    As the saying goes
    Time waits for none
We only reap what we sow in our youth at old age
    Live life to the fullest
    But
Make every black strand on your headcount
Every day is a blessing don't make it a curse
Cherish every moment of your life
    For only then
    You'd live a satisfied one

    Hey,
Bear with me yeah, will you?
    Just because you're struggling,
    doesn't mean you're failing.

Some days the sadness hits a bit harder,
and you think you’re getting weaker
    when in fact you’re not.
    The thing is,
    it’s not you who’s weak,
it’s the sadness that’s just too strong.

    You must forgive yourself
    for making mistakes.
You need to learn from your errors
    and move on.

People appreciate people while the time is still there.
I want you to know that I you're more than what you think.
I don't always say it to you but it's true.
    You stayed strong this long,

    You made it this far.
    Keep the faith.

When the sun gets away when darkness shrouds on the way.
    Life might get overwhelming,
    The mind can feel suffocated.
But there's a silver lining in feeling the pressure. Because a strong woman is molded by her struggles.

Days upon days of the mundane,
you grow, you try, you feel, you change,
    then you get by.
    I see strength in you.
    Your whole being is beautiful.
    Embrace your inner beauty.
    Love thy self and insecurities.
Your flaws are what makes you, you.

You got something that will take you far.
I see a spark of passion inside of you.
    Move by it.
    Do what you love.
Your heart and mind baby, follow it.
    Do it at your pace,
    there's no rush.
I love the fact you got a mind of your own.
    You don't belong in cages.
    You belong in the sky,
    flying high.
Born to be free as a bird.

    Don't miss the change,
    Don't let the opportunity goes
Don't let the time slip away with anything.

    Never omit good people,
Never turn your back on your loved one,
Never do blunder out of kindness.

    Appreciate your life,
    Appreciate those who care,
    Appreciate the beauty of kindness.

    Chase the dream,
Do whatever you feel to do,
    Fulfill your wishlist,
Be grateful for whatever you have.

Then you have nothing to lose.
Every story ends with a happily ever after
    and if you’re not happy
then it’s not the end yet.

    August

I stand breathing in the petrichor
That wafts past after the rains
In the whiffs of my steaming cup of tea
I feel the melting of all my pains
August arrives with the scent of the damp earth
And raindrops along with a gentle breeze
They form wet trails on my window pane
And put my soul to rest and at ease
I sit by the open bay windows
Reading a book of poems and rhymes
Making most of the warm rains
    And the dwindling sunshine
Although it pours from dawn to dusk
And time seems to come to a stand still
I love getting soaked in the afternoon rains
Or watching it fall by the window sill
One would think the skies bursting into tears
For anyone would be a terrible sight
I like the pitter patter like a gentle song
To put me to sleep at night
I wait for August patiently before fall arrives
To drench the sun dried parched earth
To make little puddles in my garden
And rejuvenate my home and hearth

    August 14th 10:45 pm

    A cool evening tonight
    Plenty of traffic still
    Cars are frequent
    Coming up the hill

    Many people walking
    To or from somewhere
    Towards their destinations
    They may be almost there

    August 15th 5:52 am

    So very nice outside
    A chill but comfortable
    Crickets are active
    Mornings are never dull

    The grass full of dew
    Makes my shoes wet
    But a little water
    Won't make me fret

    Independence day

The day summarising dedication, bravery and love for nation. The day when we declared the rebirth of free nation. At midnight when the whole world was asleep, new era was born in the womb of India. Today, we pray for our motherland to remain it's nationality and peace.
    "The flag will wave today,
Tricolor of it means a lot to me!
    We'll remember some rebels today,
Dedication of them means a lot to me!
Saluting the flag, we'll sing the anthem,
That salute means a lot to me!
A bird named 'India' took her first flight,
Her Independence means a lot to me!
