When I look in the mirror what do I see? I see a girl who's heart has been broken, more than once. A girl who carries scars & bruises. Just because you might not see them doesn't mean they aren't there. Just because you don't see the many tears I have cried doesn't mean they didn't roll down my face. Just because I smile doesn't mean I'm actually ok..

What can I say about Miss Mary Jane?
To me she has been so kind.
Whenever I'm feeling stressed or upset,
She helps me relax and unwind.
Her strains sometimes vary but she remains true,
I'm simply elated each time she comes through.
She paints me a smile, dismisses my frown,
Ruler of my heart, deserving a crown.
I roll her up and smoke her or stuff her in a bowl,
But even after that abuse she still knows her role.
I met MJ when I was young, probably 9 or 10,
& through it all she held me down better than anyone did.
My parents divorce, getting hooked on dope,
Somehow ol' MJ still gave a girl hope.
I don't know where I'd be without you,
I just know I'll never doubt you.
