'Brilliant words flowing From those never knowing, how many lives they touch.' - Connie Marcum Wong
Senryu (also called human haiku) is an unrhymed Japanese verse consisting of three unrhymed lines of five, seven, and five syllables (5, 7, 5 ) or 17 syllables in all.
Senryu is usually written in the present tense and only references to some aspect of human nature or emotions. They possess no references to the natural world and thus stand out from nature/seasonal haiku.
All I ask is that in one way or another, you'll consider lending a helping hand to your fellow Mirakeeans. As writers, we go unrecognized and unacknowledged without the support of our readers; and no matter how well a writer is doing, any success we might have is surely owed in part to our dedicated readers. Besides, without the support and acknowledgement of genuine readers, there's not much point to all this, is there? So let's do our best to return the considerable support and kindness we've been shown by paying it forward to others. Ask not what Mirakee can do for you (especially considering they've already done a heck of a lot for us, all free of charge), but what you can do for your fellow Mirakeeans... because any way you look at it, we all rise together. Blessings, Carolyn
A big hello to all of you majestic Mirakeeans out there! Hope everybody's feelin' good! Hopefully ready for a challenge too! 'Cause here it comes! Woot!!
This is a phrase prompt challenge, meaning that you will create a piece in which you incorporate the mandatory phrase provided.
CHALLENGE PHRASE: 10 feet tall and bulletproof. -Credited to Travis Tritt
MEANING: The challenge phrase denotes a heightened or overly inflated sense of self, i.e., the ego. In other words, if you feel '10 feet tall and bulletproof,' you're feelin' mighty darn good. Although you might want to take it down a notch and quit bein' so highfalutin!
I wrote my challenge piece (on my main account) as a lyrical rewrite of the original song by Travis Tritt. To get a point across, I state throughout the song that I'm NOT 10 feet tall or bulletproof.' So it's the opposite of the phrase's intended meaning.
SUPER DUPER IMPORTANT: Please be sure to credit Travis Tritt for the words '10 feet tall and bulletproof,' as they belong solely to him.
