    Remember me...
as a phase of the moon...

    Like that place you missed
    but never could go
    as Manchu Picchu
    maybe the beach you
    never got to see
    as the Northern Lights
    or the overpriced
    stuff you can't buy

    Remember me...
    As a Waxing Gibbous
    or the best two minutes
in the time of your life
    as a Fall Full Harvest
    or that favorite artist
    that you never heard live
    as a Waning Crescent
    or that Christmas present
    that was such a surprise
    Shedding in Blood
    that time you were stunned
    by a mountain sunrise
    as a December Blue
or the first time you knew
when you looked in my eyes...

    Remember me...
as a phase of the moon

I thank God for the harder times
Cause thats what makes the good times good
I stayed up all night to watch my first sunrise
And I think that's something everyone should do

When this road meets it's final end
I pray that we might all learn to fly
And I really dont think that this life ends
Or at least not on the day we die

Well I've seen wild, Georgia fires
Eat up acers of land in a matter of hours
And I've seen the grass growing green
On the other side after an april shower
I've learned this life makes a doubter
From a man of faith of that becomes a coward
I know that God's gonna test my strength
And the Devil only wants my soul devoured

There's always a couple hiccups, growing up
I've made mistakes and done shit wrong
I've treated some girls way better than me
I've done people worse than I would want

But I'd like to think, most honestly
That I've loved to be loved and spoke my peace
Been in a couple fights, on those August nights
When the heat got all the better of me

Well I've seen wild, Georgia fires
Eat up acers of land in a matter of hours
But I've learned the grass still gets green
On the other side after an april shower
I've seen this life make a doubter
Out of a man of faith who becomes a coward
I know that God's gonna test my strength
And the Devil only wants my soul devoured

I've heard, "life is but a dream..."
That depends on what you need
We want what hangs up high
but it's from the bottom we succeed

There's success and then there's greed
    There's a user and there's a fiend
There's a line in the middle
and there's a difference in between
Of this line I'm not yet keen
But I've heard and felt and seen
    Keep looking at the sky
Just to fight what lies beneath
I've been high and I've been low
    Now I'm starting to believe
In the middle there's a balance
Once I find it I'll achieve

I've heard, "life is but a dream..."
Still we sow just what is reaped
The fruit it hangs up high
but it started from a seed

    "Allie" was my first love
I almost gave it all up
    For the whom
    Excess could never be enough

You seem to blur my vision
    And each decision
    All my good reason
    Met your excess in collision
I talk but you don't listen

80 proof locked in my veins
    My identity you've nearly slain
    And every good relationship
You seem to want to lay claim
    How can I lay blame

"Allie" yes you were my first love
    How I wish you weren't a bottle
How I wish you didn't want
To keep trapped in this sorrow

    Queen "Allie"
    Queen Alcohol
The last drink was my fault
But it's the last time you'll see me fall
Til' death dear we can't talk

My fingers meet your skins naked surface
For the first time I am truly nervous
    Somehow you're shaped so perfect
    Truly it was worth it...

The Sun meets the Ocean in the evening
Might make an atheist find their meaning
Now in forever I am finally believing
    A feeling only fleeting

Even the Sun says goodbye to the Ocean
You say forever here is only just a moment
Thats exactly what you told me
But forever you had sold me

    Antarctica's a desert like Sahara
Still they could never really truly match together
Just like you and me and forever
    Cold and hot and fairweatherd

Our mistakes they were written in the stars
Your facade always stayed on guard
We both said goodbye from the start
    No forever ain't a fraud
It's just another part of our loss

Well Heavens not up in the sky
Its in the Georgia Appalachian pines
I guarantee hell is a place...
That's right here on earth you'll find

An I ain't been back home in awhile
Closest thing to Heaven is a dirt road mile
    Momma still calls my phone...
And in my head I can hear that smile

    98 degrees with humidity
Hell is probably in the Okefenokee
    Grandma still tills that yard...
Been blazing in the heat since her infancy

The seasons never change much back there
Nor do my friends when the weathers fair
    Theres a heaven, there's a hell...
I only know because I've seen my share

I just needed me an inspiration
Detoxed for four days butt naked
    Sweating on the bathroom floor
Hot flash then cold and shaking
    Locked down in the basement
Mom checked me at the door
I heard life is what you make it
I was bending close to breaking
Fiend until I didn't want more

And there's a black Cadillac hearse
Waiting for that one good high
    And there's a poem that I couldn't share
    Written behind dilated eyes

    I think I found a motivation
    Higher power granted patience
I made it off the bathroom floor
    30 days of rehabilitation
    30 nights of contemplation
Seeking out to know me more
I heard life is what we make it
    Deaths door I was facing
Found heavens far from just a lore

    There's a black Cadillac hearse
    That will grant me goodbye
There's a poem that I had to share
Once I wrote from clearer eyes

    We could stay here
    forever is just a moment
    I lost my words
    when locked in your vision
    I know your code words
    I copied and listened
I forget what you sound like
    But sometimes she mimics

I see you in large crowds
And hear you when its loud
    Forever has limits
I believe in a past life
    Or maybe other dimensions
    How could I not now
    So much was said while
    Your silence I mentioned

I aint too proud of my hands
Yet the job was surely done
Watched you sleeping from a window
The darkness let me seep in
Now tell your god to go bare
For you will never weep again
    Don't look behind you...
    For the night is black
Oh how I got your back...

Hide my head below a dark hood
    Eyes are shuttered in
On the hunt still for my forged love
With an eye that sees the end
I keep my hand on the gun
And keep my shadow out of sight
    Don't be frightened...
    For I love you so
Oh yes I love you so...

If only you... you could see me.
Im watching those closed eyes sleeping tight
Now I won't... don't want to leave you
So let it be the last day you say goodbye.

My heart is in the ink
    Stained to these pages
My love is in the rhymes
    These sheets are it's cages
My soul is in each line
    To ensure it's not wasted
    Because memories change
    But the ink's only faded
    As much as I've written
I hope it gives you proof
    That everything I write
    Yes, you're my muse
    Just writing and hoping
    My scribble can induce
    That feeling we felt
But in the end somehow lose

    Please write me a note
With your heart let it fuse
Let love be in the ink
Of the pen that you use

    Because my masterpiece
    Has to be
    Written by you
    Because half of me
    Will always be
    Somewhere with you
